I sent him the picture this morning. I want to say we should go 17 as it matches closely to the resistor of the low beam. He should be waking up soon and give an answer.

In regards to the alignment yeah will give it another go i do understand what your saying and when you mentioned the dark areas can see them now especially when on a dark road.
Hmm. Flashing typically comes from the CANBUS pulses. I'm assuming you have a relay, which should take care of that. I need to look into if the DRL's only can have the bulb checks coded out, if they even have one.

I just installed these yesterday and I'm having the same issue. Drls are flickering and not just for a bulb check more like a constant affair.

Anybody running LED bulbs in the lows instead of HID’s? How are they?

LED Bulbs for Depo's?

Side note, does anyone have a confirmed low beam LED bulb that will fit in the Depo housing with no modification? Having trouble finding one that is confirmed to work.

I’m curious to see how they’d look in the projectors also

Hi guys! I'm new at the forum and i'm curious if anyone has similar problem that I do. I've bought DEPO headlights for my bmw f30 328i about 1,5 month ago and although I'm very happy the way they look , there are three major disadvantages. Since headlights replacement I've drove for about 3-4 times in serious rain and also I washed my car in touch-free carwash twice. Today I noticed some streaks/smudges in the interior part of both left and right shades. Here's the pictures :

Does anyone of you have the same problem? How to avoid it?How to clean it ? ( I suppose that there is no way to just pull off shades in easy way and wipe it out... )
The second problem is the error that popped out ( yellow triangle ) after replacement, that states there is malfunction of position of the lights and I can dazzle other drivers - how to fix it?
Third problem is the cutoff line ( sadly , I don't have any pictures ) - there is no straight line , I've got rather multiple steps in whole line - how to fix it/adjust it?

Thank you for your replies.

Pics of your cutoff? Steps are normal in HID.

Not sure why I typed HID. I meant steps are normal in projectors. They're required by law in order to keep you from blinding oncoming traffic. Best thing you can do is ensure bulbs are aligned well and then adjust the projectors so they are overlapped just right.

I ended up using LEDs that had a fanless design for my lows, as they were the only ones that fit without me modifying the dust cover or anything else. These type of LEDs have metal like ribbons/belts attached to them to dissipate the heat generated from the LEDs. I've had them installed for over a year with my depos with no issues whatsoever. Their light output on the road are not as bright as HIDs but they are good enough, especially if you install LEDs for the fog lights as well.

After a year with the Depos, Ive had no problems with them at all. But Im curious about something. If the LEDs that light the rings go out, what are the options to fix them? Do we just install another LED driver into the housing, or do we need to reorder new Depo lights all together?

Can you adjust the alignment of the beams from the hood like OEM?

How the heck do you change the bulbs on these DEPO headlights? Do you have to remove the wheel because it seems pretty difficult to pull out the old bulbs to put in the HIDs...

Yup! There are two knobs per headlight to adjust. Just be sure when you do that you don't overscrew to one side. If the headlight knob gets tough and starts to "bump" like it's not going anywhere, stop and go back a little. Some have done otherwise and had the projector come off.

Nope. Just turn your wheels. Did my HID install after the headlights were in for a year and with the wheels on.

Update: got these installed last Saturday and I swapped the halogen bulbs to DDM LED’s and they work pretty good. I noticed the LED bulbs in the old reflectors worked better than in the projectors, but it’s still much brighter than stock. I’ll probably go HID route later on once I get tired of the LED bulbs.

As far as beam pattern goes, I would have liked it more if the projectors made a straight line beam like most OEM projectors do. No matter how much I adjust the beams it seems like they have this weird Tetris looking pattern where it’s kinda blocky. I’ll try and get a pic when I get a chance.

Overall my initial impressions are positive with these lights. It sure feels a lot better knowing my car now has angel eyes compared to the ugly stock lights.

Beam cutoff is normal as it's part of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108.

"S10.18.9.1 Vertical aim, lower beam. Each lower beam headlamp must have a cutoff in the beam pattern. "

What led bulbs did you use? Also can you give a quick description of the coding needed? Thanks.

I installed mine over a week ago and no issues with errors or anything line that. I got my HID from the retrofitsource
Ballasts: Hylux 2A88 Canbus
Bulbs: H7: Morimoto XB HID 5500K + H7 HID Adapters
Was hoping to get a one step cutoff line but reading other posts here it doesn't look like its possible. Each headlight has a -\_/- thing going on. Anyone able to get a nice straight line? And not just when you are close to a wall/garage.

This might have already been covered but your lights should have a nice hot spot area. If they do not you have to angle the bulb till they do. This is from USR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K4zdRp61gY
I was able to shim in some folded aluminum foil to tilt the tip of the bulb down and pretty happy with the results.

There was someone else asking about what if the LED's for the rings go out, how do we replace. According to USR you can replace with BMW LED modules that screw onto the bottom of the headlight unit (the heat-sink looking things)
