Hmmm Tuned 335d and the BMW E92 M3

Well I currently have them both and with fuel prices (certainly in the UK) being outrageous, its a good time to revisit the differences and is the M3 worth the extra outlay and running costs?

I know this sparks some controversy, and I have read some other posts, but I am thinking of getting rid of the M3. I think prices are softening and the fuel economy and tax is no fun considering you can hardly use the car to its full potential on the road and its not an exotic that is just a buzz to own, look at and cruise around in.

In the real world on the road a good mildly tuned 335 whether petrol of diesel would keep with it, and with a slightly better driver behind the wheel, probably take it, and apart from the noise (that is important of course) and revs, its pretty similar to drive with less of the ownership drama.

Hmmm!

Depends on your stomach for £100+ fill up for 200 miles!

I like the M3 and was always a car I wanted to own one day, but unless it was a E46 CS/CSL with low miles and a weekend car, I think the bills would add up, purely due to the age these are now.

Holy balls! I left the UK in 2018. Is it really up to £100/ tank now?

Ultimate diesel is approx £2.10 a litre so from empty my F31 335d takes around £120+ for a full tank.

Wow that's $9.54/ US gallon

We got over $5/gallon for premium 93 although that is mid $4 now.

When I came here in 2018 it was $2/ gallon

Biden destroyed the US oil industry the first week in office and sends most of the US strategic supply to China (who owns him) and now he's cap in hand begging Saudi Arabia

My M3 is costing me around £2 a mile in fuel, to be either stuck in traffic or behind miss daisy hitting potholes and poor surfaces.

The car is getting slowly killed off!

That's insane and very sad. My friend had an e92 m3. Great fun hurtling down the m6 with him when I had my boosted eunos roadster.
