Has anyone tried this out? It's amazing! I can create recipes with limitless possibilities. For example - when I leave work, an email will automatically go out to my wife. Not always the best thing

lol. But for instance if my fav stock goes up by 10% it will notify me on my BMW dashboard split screen. Fascinating stuff!!

Would love to learn some other useful 'recipes' others are using. Thanks!

I tired it and set up a geo fence when I leave a certain area and I have yet to have it work even once. You have that feature working okay?

It's working great for me. Works every single time! Did you try resetting?

Yeah... I have tried everything. Reset the app and also reestablished the connection on IFTTT. Still no love. It has been a week since I last tried, so maybe I'll give it another shot.

Go to the IFTTT site at this link and connect your car using your BMW Connected Drive username and password. Then make a IFTTT "recipe" using the BMW labs channel. Then in your car install the widget from that screen Wunderboy123456 shows in his screenshot.

I'm having the same issue with the geofence logic - none of the recipes I have with location triggers have worked. I keep getting notifications a few days after I set it up that the recipe's been disabled since the "connection may be stale" or something.

Weather notifications are the only ones that work for me at the moment. I've tried reconnecting and resetting the IFTTT app but still couldn't figure it out.

What happened after 10-2015

Good question. I guess it's something for BMW to answer. My car was made on 10/2015! It's probably something to do with them wanting to keep the Beta phase small to a few drivers and not include everyone in case something goes wrong.

How are you getting to the menu listed in your 2nd photo?

This is interesting. Found I have a 4G module versus the 3G module (thought 4G only came with Enhanced USB and Bluetooth). Oh and my car was manufactured on 11/2015 so this works although I'm outside of the supported cars criteria.

I haven't played around with it till today so still I'm learning what I can use it for. Weather in the morning and an email showing where the car is parked may prove useful. I don't think I would want my Dropcam, Honeywell Lyric, or MyQ garage linked since I can already control via my iPhone. I feel like news and social media feeds would be a major distraction so I wouldn't use those either. Do I need to keep the Labs Widget running on the split screen to make it work? I like seeing current song info in the split screen.

Excited to see how this might evolve...

Set a memory button for both. I set entertainment screen for 5 and Labs Widget for 6

No problem . Happy to share! Yes, split screen needs to be active with lab widgets selected for this to work.

I have a memory button programmed to switch on and off the split screen. I have found this to be particularly useful. It's like resetting the widget in case you just added a new recipe or if something is not working.

Even when I reconnect it though, the geofencing features still don't work on mine. I have it set up to:

Send an email when I enter an area
Display a notification in the car when I enter / exit an area
Send me an email when my car is parked (have since figured out that it only works on automatic models)
