-Light bulb fell out of h7 socket and melted headlight housing. Replaced with aftermarket DEPO halogen headlights-both sides and had them protected with self-healing coating. Prior to replacement, I had all sort of lamp malfunctions.
-Gap between hood and left fender after changing out headlights.
-Brakes and rotors replaced at about 120,000 miles
-Changed transmission fluid at 125,000 miles, running very smooth now.
-CEL Replaced exhaust backpressure sensor at 130,000 miles because the hose was filled with sticky soot. Lower bolt of the exhaust backpressure sensor tube had to be retapped.
-CEL Four fuel injectors replaced at 140,000miles.
-Coolant leak (slow) probably associated with recent EGR cooler recall since I could not locate the source of the leak.
-Rear Wheel bearing went bad at 145,000miles. Replaced wheel hub/wheel bearings since the mechanic quoted basically two for one price so I let him do both.

Up next:
Universal flex disk (giubo) to make the drivetrain smooth as new again.
Rear differential fluid change
Transfer case fluid change
Rubber bushings will all be conditioned next time I get underneath the car.
Did you change the tranny fluid filter and sleeves also?
Hopefully been changing the fuel filters.

What fuel filter? jk
Replaced the transmission pan/filter/gasket/stretch bolts with the ZF OE part and ZF fluid.

One more thing. Lost like two wheel lock keys so I just put regular lugs back on.
A mechanic stripped a lug so I had to extract it.

The main thing though is that the car IS reliable, everything just needs to be done correctly, every time.

Also on my to do list is to clean the HVAC air intake and AC evaporator core.

Driving is my typical mix of sport mode around town and comfort mode on the highway. I'm sure eco pro mode might be a little better yet, but I'm leary of how much it deadens the 'go' pedal. No good if you need to take evasive maneuvers or pass anyone.

Interesting data. I don't contest it, because it's a very positive outcome. On the edc17 ecu, lambda is used solely for smoke control, to reduce fueling, so I don't see where it would 'fit in'.
But nonetheless, it's a nice observation. If it holds over a few more tanks without active bias, then that's great!

I got my dad's X3 28d to go up 3mpg to the average just from a tune I made for it, so that was a nice surprise. The huge lump of torque and nice hp really move that suv.

BTW, ecopro setting can be tinkered with to be much better.

If the message is "drivetrain malfunction" it can be almost anything. I got it from an EGR leak and also got it just prior to the transfer case blowing up. It stores a sort of 'soft' code that doesnt set the MIL light and requires a bmw specific scanner to make sense of. Ie ISTA+ or the like. BMW did a great job keeping the diagnostics difficult for owners.

EGR components looked fine, however the hose that goes from the bottom air filter box to under the MAF sensor has some grease buildup at the connection point on the MAF side.

Drivetrain malfunction, drive moderately. But before that happens you can feel it when you drive. A non linear acceleration with hiccups.

I had no codes or lights, maybe i didn't wait for it to get bad enough but I had the hiccups under heavy acceleration, the clutch packs are slipping, almost feels like an engine misfire.

Generic OBD (P-codes) is only for emissions regulated components.

There is a spreadsheet with all the failures the mileage and the tires setup.

I can’t find the link I’m new on this forum.

But looks like square set up has the similar failure rate.
