Hello, all.
Just picked up a set of Work VSXX. F- 19x8.5 et40 (thinking of adding a 12mm spacer) R- 19x10 et23 Would I be able to run 235/35, 265/30 without rubbing? 335 xDrive on Dinan Springs. Last edited by CHI3F; 09-19-2018 at 10:57 PM.. |

Those rears are very aggressive. No way you're gonna fit a 265 even if maxing out stock camber. You need rear camber arms and fender roll/pull. A 245 (or probably 235/35) is more realistic and even then I don't think maxing out the stock camber (should get around -2.5 or so) will fit without fender work.

That's pretty aggressive rear at et23, not saying it's impossible but you'll need some work to make it fit. You might need to stretch the tires and add camber.

265? no chance. I run 225/35 on 19x10 ET25 in the rear and I could not fit more with max stock camber, which is -3.2 at my height by the way. And even tho I have a slight fender pull, it is still rubbing on the rim lip during hard dips. Last edited by kedafoe; 09-20-2018 at 02:53 AM.. |

If we go for stock we have 225/40 and 255/35 on 19” or 225/35 and 255/30 on 20” which gives us a rolling circumference of -0.7%. That’s what the xDrive was designed for. So from this perspective 235/35 and 265/30 is the better option because it is -0.8% = total difference of -0.1% to stock. I also had both combinations on my last setup and had less vibration issues with 235/265 than 235/275. |

I don't think the difference from stock matters. You just need to make sure the fronts and rears aren't too different. If both are smaller or taller than stock it's not that big a deal if both diameters are similar.

a new 235 with a half warn 236 will be closer to 2% rolling diameter difference

So if you have to change tires you should always change all fours. If you don’t follow that rule you will have problems with no matter what combination, even stock lol. |

How does it handle? It must feel great... Assuming no rubbing on the front? I should have done this.

It handles better than stock but the bumps are quite painful with the springs lol. I’m gonna upgrade my shocks/struts with Bilstein B8’s as soon as possible |

Are any of you xDrive guys having problems with front axles/cv boots? I'm torn on what to do with my car. I wanted a RWD to begin with since it doesn't snow too much in Ohio, but they just don't exist around here, and I made an impulsive decision and ended up with an xDrive.
Now I'm not happy with the way it handles or the ridiculously goofy ride height, and want to do coilovers. I'm worried that even at the highest setting on something like a KW SC I'll run into issues with excessive front end wear. I come from the lifted truck world, and told myself with this car ride height was staying stock. Don't know if I should just sell the car and travel south to get something RWD or take my chances and modify the xDrive. It seems like most people on here only keep their cars for a couple years and less than 50k miles so it's hard to gauge long term reliability. I'd like to keep this car for 100k + miles but if I'm going to have to do CV boots every 10k that's not going to work. |

I have 60k miles now and no issues at all.
Only hypothetical issue you could have are vibrations from the front drive shafts and the transfer gearbox. Depends on how low you go and which tire sizes you choose. The latter is the most important. If you keep the rolling circumference as stock as possible you will be happy. If you really want to do aggressive stance and riding low af it would be best if you get an rwd for those purposes beofre you invest money in your current car. If this is not your goal at all, you will be fine with the xDrive anyways. |
