I would imagine it'd be up in a BMW dealership for £28-29k. But they'd expect to move on that price.
Go to private sale, and I always think you knock 10% off. So I'd suggest advertised at £26k, accepting £25k or so. |

Mate I think Robbie is right and tbh your a bit ignorant by not even acknowledging him, advice is advice even if you don't agree with what's being said.

Some people would rather have their car for sale for months on end rather than just sell it for what it's worth, it's their choice though, as mad as it may be!

It will sit about until the new reg comes out then more people will change cars so it will be competing to sell in a larger pool. Selling privately, it is always going to be difficult to get much more than trade on a car like that in my opinion. A buyer spending north of £26k wants a warranty in case the worst happens and they have bought a pig in a poke. Best of luck to the seller if he thinks he can sell it for £28.5k. Maybe there is a buyer out there but I suspect he will find the same thing on AUC and go there for it.

It's up to the OP what he wants to sell his car for, and ultimately what a buyer is prepared to pay.
There's so much thread crapping goes in in the classified section on this forum, and it's against the rules but they're rarely imposed. It would have been more appriciate for Robbie to make his comments/offer advice via a PM. |

Blimey life's too short to be worried about someone not acknowledging what someone else comments on an internet forum, especially about someone elses comment.
Second I didn't agree with what Robbie said so I didn't want to start a debate about it. I never said it needs to be a quick sale and I don't expect to get what its advertised for as people will always try and knock you down. |

It was notable that nobody else chipped in with a figure - or to say whether they thought my figure was right or wrong, and (again, an important consideration) backing it up with a reasoned argument. The post was not made with any malicious intent or 'thread crapping'. I'd have thought absolutely anyone reading it would have seen that quite clearly. If you (or the OP) read it in that way, or it came across like that to others, then I apologise. It was made as (I felt) a realistic price, and I actually spent a few minutes on AUC before making the post. Then taking off 10% for the 'risk and embuggrance' factor of having to deal with a private vendor, and not getting the warranty, CRA comeback, etc. that you'd get from an AUC sale. I'll close on one other point, however. The OP has said, in his last post, that "I don't expect to get what its advertised for as people will always try and knock you down". But in the very first post, the car belongs to his boss. Anyway. Good luck to the OP (or his boss) with the sale. |

Lol good post Robbie, when I sell a car just like I am now I do exactly what you did and gauge the market I then price my car in line with the cheapest most comparable car and I don't put it up expecting to negotiate with a buyer as they and I already know it's priced where it should be.
Btw Robbie could you take a look at my advert a give some hints please. 😉 |
