I hope so, I always used to go Green when available, really popular in the 90s but a rarity now. Hopefully making a comeback

Unfortunately BMW U.K. increasingly only seem to want to offer blacks, whites and variations of grey.
I agree Touringpleb especially for the smaller more 'Sporty' car.

BMW used to even offer two shades of Black, what is that all about

I think a dark metallic green on a 5 would look really good.

And I love the red Merc do for the E class. Shame BMW don't do anything similar unless you go individual.

My boss a long time ago had a metallic green E34, looked the business.

However, reputedly the least safe colour - or at least that is what my Mum said when my Dad wanted a BRG car from BL..... so he had damask red instead!

I like bright on small sporty cars but wanted my big sporty car to go under the radar - although Donington would have been my first choice....

Pity the Individual Aventurine Red (or similar) isn't available for the G21 M340i - reckon it would look quite good in a nice dark metallic red.

Some blacks aren't really or just black. I would never choose Sapphire Black, for instance, but Carbon Black (dark blue in sunlight and really highlights curves) is a wonderful colour. All IMHO.

There's an X3 M40i around the corner from me in Carbon Black and it's the nicest example I've seen so far. But, I'm guessing even though it's not black black it'll be just as much of a nightmare to keep clean?

100% yes. They all just look black also unless in direct sunlight mainly. Azurite black I had was stunning when clean and shiny.

Same car differing light. I liked the difference but it not a always 'popping' if that's your thing.

It does look much better when clean. A few different lights....

Hmmm always nice but always end up costing more than the M5 equivalent, nonissue if it's the touring you're after. £100k 5 series.

Yep, I convinced myself I could live with a saloon when I saw a pre reg D5 salook for sale at £65k..... when I realised that a very heavily discounted brand new M5 could be had for a little more, it wasnt a difficult decision.

I've always wanted an Alpina since I worked just round the corner from Sytner Nottingham and they had E30 shape Alpinas in.... but I've also always wanted an M5 and at those prices there was no competition.

I suspect one of my dreams is going to go on being a dream for a long time looking at their current prices....

Looks very cool in orange!

Mine should be delivered on the same day. When they were encouraging me to collect by saying that delivery could be a month away, I had a feeling they would find a way to get the cars out sooner.

Looking at the saloon always liked the 5er but the 540i is no match to a 340i with MPPSK but this B5 does tickle me though.

It may well do, but with a higher list price than an M550i, no discount, and £15-20k discount common place on high spec 5 series, not sure it’s worth £3-400 a month more on a finance agreement.

There’s a reason they sell in such small numbers and it’s not just the marmite looks.

Yep all makes financial sense but the heart has always longed for an Alpina just need to steal some cash to buy it lol.

Do like Alpina - my mate had a F10 D5 when they were first launched and it was a lovely thing.

Agree re the comments that logically it isn’t worth the extra over a standard high spec 5 series, but it did just feel bespoke and had a unique sense of occasion about it.

I also think Alpina as a brand has a certain cache, at least for those in the know. My thoughts are probably reinforced by a story my mate told me. He was selling his F430 Scuderia to one of the supercar brokers down south. The broker had flown up to view and ultimately buy the car. Mate had agreed to pick him up at the airport. He’s sat waiting for the guy having not mentioned what car he was in and the passenger door opened and the guy got in. He’d basically assumed someone who had a Scuderia would also be an Alpina owner. That was despite my mate saying there were a whole load of other high-end cars in the immediate proximity.
