LCI air-con unit/trim F32

I have a 14 plate 420d m sport and i have seen how to fit the LED surround part in gloss blac etc .....but does the actual LCI white dial facia/unit part plug and play ?? On my car the temp dials are red and the LCI version is white..... is it always white or does it change ?? Does it work on pre-LCI F32's ??

You can pick up the whole unit with the surround for decent money ...but does it work ......or should i just buy a new surround and not worry about the whole unit ?

Any help would be great !!

I've just bought the whole LCI AC/Heater panel with the surround to fit to my pre-LCI F36. I think you need to check the you have the light under the panel that light up the cup holder and if so you need a Y cable to get power from there to the surround and it should all work.

I think it shows up as white during the day and the yellow that is my understanding. It is similar to the Digital Dash which is white during the day but during the night it turns yellow.

As far as I am aware there is no coding.

I should be fitting mine tomorrow so will let you know how it goes.

There is coding required to make the climate panel change colour. You also need to have an IKHA3 climate control unit. Early pre-LCI cars didn't have the capability.

The LCI trim surround just needs to tap into an ambient light feed.

I had Simon come over to do my ID6 retrofit so luckily he wired it and fitted it all for me instead so not entirely sure what happens if you don't code it.

But from what I checked if it is just the surround you are getting then it will just light up once you get power to it. I did do a bit of searching and there are some details on the forum about programming the heating/AC panel on here.

The LCI climate screen as in with the temperatures etc will stay white if not coded on a car with IHKA3.

Early pre-LCI cars with IHKA, I'm unsure if the panel will work at all.

Hi all,

Appreciate that this is an old thread but hoping someone can help me out.

I’ve recently bought a pre-LC F32. The previous owner has replaced the AC/radio control panel with an LCI unit.

The heating works ok, but the memory buttons / volume control don’t work. Presumably this is due to coding / or the IHKA3 unit that previous posters have referred to?!

If this is the case, what do I need to do to get the memory and volume buttons to work?

Thanks
