Here is a side by side comparison of stocker vs. XDI-35 hpfp. Both logs have same hardware parts (aside from the upgraded pump) and are both in top of 3rd gear @ 6k RPM (same exact speed too - that was actually a coincidence) You can see the stock HPFP would dip/crash on anything above 16-17 psi (sometimes associated with a rough fuel cut and buck - I'm sure a few of you know what I'm talking about lol). I'm running 20-21 psi on the XDI-35 pump and no fuel pressure dips at all. Car feels real beastly up top at 20+ psi with solid timing too . Dyno numbers coming

Looks great! Logs will be shared once tuning is finished?

More octane and more boost, please. I'd like to see where the XDi-35 pump's limits are. It would be nice if it would allow you to max out a PS2 on a high ethanol mix.

I had a FB chat with TTFS concerning the XDI-35 and 60 pump. They stated the XDI-35 is good for 500hp+ while the XDI-60 is good for 700hp+ . Per our conversation, they stated "...the Xdi 35 is perfect for E35 blend. There truely is no point in adding more E85 than that, the power will be about the same. the Xdi 60 can do full E85 (pointless but it can) like i said no need to go past E30 but you can." They also stated PS2 is being maxed out with the XDI-35, and OE Engine stock internals have yet to be maxed out, stating "...nobody has made a turbo big enough to really push this motor to break something lol " .. I personally disagree with that last statement as they don't have R&D data to support this...bottom line, I'll be DEFINITELY following F30_SixSpeed 's footsteps as I believe the XDI-35 is PERFECT for my long term reliability goals. .

@F30_SixSpeed just out of curiosity, do you have to install the XDI-35 to get the option in BM3 to switch to that HPFP? I cant find it in my map options. I was hoping to see it so that if I go the route its not an issue when flashing.
otherwise, great build and fantastic numbers! congrats! |

Please explain to me how this is true? E40 mixed with 93 octane gives you about 98 octane whereas full E85 is about 105 octane. More octane = more resistance to knock = advanced timing = more power.

This was quoted from a study: High ethanol blends have been shown to permit higher CR operation. Caton et al. [10] showed that for E85 blends, the maximum brake torque (MBT) spark timing could be maintained up to a CR of about 13.5, whereas MBT could not be maintained for gasoline and E10 past a CR of 9.0 in a modified CFR octane rating engine. Nakata et al. [11] showed at a CR of 13.0, MBT timing was knock-constrained for E0, E10, and E20, but not knock-constrained for E50 and E100 at the tested conditions. Stein et al. [12] evaluated a dual fuel system, where gasoline was delivered through a PFI injector as the primary engine fuel, and E85 was delivered as the secondary engine fuel as-needed to prevent knock. It was found that under turbocharged conditions with a 12.0 CR configuration, the maximum amount of E85 required to prevent knock at peak load was less than 60%, which is effectively about E50. The work here is unique in that it investigates, in combination, the effect of several high CR in an engine with DI fueling and with ethanol blends.

Tuning has developed insane in the last 2yrs and since day one PTF has been able to make as much power with conservative boost/timing than others running more aggressive boost/timing I've noticed. F80Paul whats your thought on the comment in regards here E35 being perfect and no point in adding more ?
