How to remove scratches from temperature screen?

Long story short, I took my car to a local mechanic and he left a visible scratch on the temperature screen. What's the best way to remove scratches from the temperature screen between the temperature knobs in the center console? Would toothpaste work? Thanks in advance.

Try a headlight restoration kit.

Use a plastic polishing compound with a small rotary tool.

Ditto the above, though I did it by hand with the compound from headlight resto kit and microfiber, followed by plastic polish.
