New Car Day!
So this doesn't feel quite a special as normal with everything else going on but some things in life can't stop.
VW delivered to my house by a driver with gloves and a mask, he apologised for the change to the normal handover but it was a good gesture! So far I have done about 30 miles in the car and I am v happy. It's smooth and quiet. Air suspension in comfort and a nice V6 engine (even if it is diesel) is so refined after the Volvo 4 pot! With the acoustic glass it's very quiet, tech is very impressive and will take me a while to get used to it all. The dash is almost completely configureable which is great, again it will take me some time to get used to it. The ACC works very well, I have the drive assist pack as well and it's a step up on the Volvo, but that was also an older system. Anyway in these confusing and worrying times it's nice to have something to look forward to! Stay safe GBR1 |

Really nice! Live that satellite view detail. Crisp!
Do you find it a big car to manoeuvre after the Volvo. I struggled to size it in the dealers without much to reference. Looked between X5 and X3, maybe nearer the 5 now. Quality looked very good and I didn't know they had air suspension, such a great luxury feature. Home for a 'deep clean' now I guess? Oh crap I've just had a horrible thought of what my wife will want to do!

I am not sure its much bigger than the V90, sitting up higher defiantly gives a different perspective. What is nice is due to the huge screen it splits when parking, so the right stays as the overhead view and the left alters between front and rear depending on direction of travel obviously. So despite it being big its easy to park. You can get the all wheel steering option which apparently helps with small car parks.... |

Congrats on the new toy!!
It's kind of fun to leapfrog technology with each new car. My wife's 2013 Mazda SUV is showing it's age. With my kids growing up, not a huge need for a 7-passenger SUV so looking forward to getting back to a car for the family... Or maybe a Rivian SUV... |

Went for a quick drive tonight, the matrix headlights are very very good. I had std led's on the Volvo and they were good but these are way better. On the F31 I had the dancin lights Xenons, which were fantastic and although not a bright as the Volvo what they could do was very impressive.
The matrix is another level of dancin, I am not sure if it was the higher driving position or the lights but I didn't get half of the glare from oncoming cars as I did in the Volvo. Tried to get a pic of the ambient lighting but it didn't come out very well.. |

Best comparison was the HK in the X5 I had recently and it's on par with that. |

Just worked out today how they get over the air con sync issue. It's linked to either the seat belt or pressure on the seat, so when I am in the car I have one temp option, as soon as the wife got in today the second passenger temp activated.
Simple and makes so much sense! |
