Bought a plain Golf Mk7.5 - non-GTi, pre-reg - in mid-Jan following a break-in in which my 440i was the target (now sold).
No clean car pics as I haven't washed the Golf yet and don't plan to anytime soon Having driven/owned and obsessively cared for premium German cars for the past thirty plus years, it is totally liberating having a car you don't give a t*ss about - honestly

It gets a bit tedious aiming for glossy perfecting in rainy U.K. Passably clean will do nicely. Saying that, would just love to get out for a drive right now!

I don't care about where I park it, about stone chips, about interior mess, about people slamming the doors, about dirty shoes etc etc It's as cheap as chips to fuel, tax and insure - and another bonus is the fact being the GT version, it's not as completely cr*p to drive as I thought it would be.

There seems to be a massive car detailing scene nowadays which is great if you enjoy it but I cant think of anything I would like to do less. For me cars are about driving enjoyment not how much shine I can get on it, I suppose it would be a sad old world if we were all the same though. I say thank goodness for my brilliant Polish and Romanian lads that do my cars every few months |

Can't be bothered to wash my car. Don't see the point in just watching it gradually getting dirtier again sat on the drive not turning a wheel.
Focussing more on garden and house maintenance. |

I was so bored I cleaned all the melted rubber, tar and brake dust off the track car. I've even bought some Honda Satin Silver and clear coat rattle can paint to have a go at trying to patch up some of the dodgy paint work, for a laugh! The front bumper can only be improved after a few glances with tyre walls/hay bales/other cars(previous owner).
Might even wax it |

Mine's still filthy and got the winter wheels on, planning to change that this weekend as the weather forecast looks incredible!
Hopefully will be looking like this again: |
