Lightbulb Maybe one of the Fastest F30 0-100km/h acceleration 3.27s

Hi ALL,

A few days ago, my F30 335i xdrive N55 PWG has just achieved 0-100km/h in 3.27s measured by two different 10GHZ accurate GPS.

1/4 mile in 11.1s
youtube link:

Car: 2014 F30 335i xdrive PWG N55
Mod: Pure stg2 turbo, BMS JB4, BM3, PI and meth 25psi boost
Location: Shanghai, China
Temp.: 20 degrees C

With driver and half tank, the car was around 1800kg. I will try to do some weight reduction, what's the most efficient way to reduce weight on this F30? please share your valuable comments! Thank u in advance!

Awesome time! Congrats!

Small note: the GPS is 10Hz not 10GHz

Nice time.

Easiest ways to reduce weight:
Go down to a quarter tank of fuel
Remove rear seats
Remove trunk Lining
Remove catback

If you get really serious, definitely swap smaller brakes/wheels. Find a salvage 320i and take the set off of it.

Also look into a set of light forged wheels, if you want to shed some weight.
You want to reduce as much as you can from "rotating" mass

Judging from his picture he looks to have BBS FI-R which are about as light as they come...I would assume they are authentic ones but it's hard to tell.

you can remove the midpipe too and just dump the exhaust from the downpipe if you're willing.

and no matter how your wheels are made, bigger will weigh more and the tires will grip less. i'm telling you, drop down to 17s and some tall tires and your times will jump without changing anything else. removing weight from the inside of the car might not have as big of an effect as you expect, but it'll help too.

His BBS RI-D already weigh less than 19 lbs per wheel. It's also going to be next to impossible to find 17" wheels that will clear 380mm brake rotors.

It's more than just absolute weight though. It's also about Rotational Inertia, which the 20" wheels will have a much great moment of inertia than 17" wheels even given the exact same weight.

If he's really searching for 1/4 mile times then those brakes need to go as well. He'd probably save 50 lbs just dropping down to base calipers, then another 20-30lbs dropping down to base size rotors. This doesn't even factor in the lower moment of inertia on the smaller rotors..

Edit: I'm guessing he'll find much better drag tires with smaller wheels as well. Proper drag tires will help his time more than any weight savings.

Thank you very much for your hint, so far I am using Michelin CUP2, due to Xdrive, slippery issue can be improved by better launch techniques. BBS RI-D only weight 7.5kg each
