I have a problem with mi unit.
When the android try to open CarPlay app, the screen return to OEM interface (Bmw NBT). So I need to touch the screen 3 or 4 times for try to return to android side.

I have the later version 3.0.50 but it dosn't run, atleast on android 10, this older version (3.0.40) is working perfectly?

Hmm its running now fine for a week, but due to corona i use my car not that much. I think about. 8-10 bootups. But normally it would give me the bootloop issue already.

I did not install netflix and bmw deepobd. And somehow i suspect the old netflix app...?

As I previously posted, I have not had a bootloop/recovery screen since my my last reinstallation a few weeks ago.

I also suspected the old Netflix app that we are all using was the culprit and didn't reinstall that the last time.

But as some of you have mentioned, I have not used my car much due to shelter-in-place. So atm it's probably hard for us to narrow down the cause much further.

If it IS that old Netflix apk causing the bootloops, I will gladly never reinstall it, but I will miss it!

Lets monitor this i am going to reinstall the other apps and deinstall the stock ones i dont need.

I think you've already tried it, but that's the version that comes with the head unit, and it works properly on mine too (I received it with android 10 out of the box).

The sound is not great in these Android units. I have pro logic sound and when I switch to Android OS, the sound is muffled and not as crisp. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks and sorry if this question was asked before.

Looks like my option is Bluetooth or AUX connection. When I tap on Bluetooth menu in Android screen it goes back to the OEM Settings screen.

If you have anything connected to the AUX port, disconnect. If still bad sound, try this (disconnect the AUX port entirely by pulling out the 4 pin connector):

Hey guys, Been following this thread since the beginning.. At this stage has anyone found any real reason to move to Android 10? Id love to upgrade but my config on 9 is working flawless..

I spend 99.9% of my time in Apple Carplay and Id hate to mess anything up by upgrading until we see a real reason outside of being on the latest and greatest..

I would love to have carplay use idrive in the right direction but I know thats the adaptor itself that needs an update.

Use Factory_Config.xml from HERE, and you will have all available GUI`s.
Avin`s gui should be 4th or 5th.

Beside newer security update level (but still outdated) there is no benefit at the moment for Android 10.

Regarding the bootloop issue, i am now 90% sure it is the old netflix app that is causing this issue!
