If you're using Bimmercode, every change is reversible. I doubt that you'll have any issues, but if you do, they'd be temporary and you could just restore to the backup.

I have both the e90 hk amd the f30hk. My e90 sounds worlds better. Its a much fuller sound. In the f30 its sounds like there is zero midrange. The only thing thats better with the f30 is the crispyness of the highs and the punchier bass.

Im running reccomendes eq settongs from forum on both setups. Anyone have any experience with both as well?

Could the coding fix the f30?

I've not heard the E90 HK system, but I did have a 2010 535xi with the top HiFi system and it was very impressive. I wish I had saved my EQ settings, I would have shared them with you.

As far as the F30 HK system goes, the DSP definitely livens up the midrange and seems to uncork the subs as well. Being that it takes so little time to code/reverse, I'd give it a try and see if it improves your experience any.

Yeah Bimmercode was a cake walk, made the change and a HUUUUUUUUGE difference in sound! I am running the Bimmertech Alpha One speakers, and WOAH what a difference between what it was to what it is now! I like expanded mode so far.

What a cool combination! I've been looking for someone that tried the A1's and hear their feedback. Glad to hear that this made your listening experience better. Expanded is my hands-down favorite, too.

Not sure if anyone mentioned/noticed it, I was installing the LCI radio trim earlier and noticed that in the light menu, there is a B&O option under Brightness. Inside B&O, there are 3 options: Off, Reduced while driving, On.

Does anyone have an idea how they behave...?

Yep, I believe the B&O system has LEDs around some of the speaker grilles and that setting controls them.

I'm an idiot. My settings got reset after dealer coding. Just changed them back to Glenn's. Definitely better than my e90...lol

just curious, what would happen if I did this and I have the HiFi system? also thinking of upgrading speakers and adding a small amp, but if I can get better DSP, I'm down.

We are not quite sure yet. You'd be the first to report back. natesi Is waiting for his wifi obdII to be delivered and then he is going to try the same thing, since he also has the standard hifi.

I'm willing to give it a shot, Inhave the dongle and bimmercode app but I've never used expert mode before. If it doesn't work or I need to revert back is it simple enough? I know you have the code for going back to "HK", will I see the code for HiFi before I change it so I can take a screen shot? thanks

If you use Bimmercode, anytime you code something it makes a backup of what the value was before and you can choose to restore from the backup at any time.

so, I just tried it and "high_end_audio_menue" is not in the list in 3000 HMI, I scrolled back and forth 5 or 6 times and didn't see it. I did see "L7_surround config" and it was "nicht_aktiv", so I'm gonna look up if I activate that I can still have an uphrade over the HiFi. was worth a shot.

*ponders* I wonder if its possible to get those grills AND if the lighting hook ups are already there. I bet not on the wires.

Imagine if the HK writings on the tweeters start following the ambient light (white/orange), and gives a breathing effect based on bass level, that would be awesome!
