Its still a little confusing to me though, because the strut tower holes come threaded, so how do the studs on the coilovers go up through those holes? Are they smaller than the OEM threaded hole or something? Or can you spin those studs and they are threaded into the OEM hole and bolted from the top? (i doubt the latter). |

The engine is irrelevant for this mod. And it's the same install on all the F3x cars.

I put one one my F30 B58 with no issues. Not sure of the F32 has wider stock towers though -- but you should be able to confirm by comparing parts between the F30 and F32. |

I emailed Megan Racing & the guy responded saying that "it fits the F32 as well" but gave no explicable reasoning as to why it was omitted on the website in the first place. So I chanced it and will return it if it doesn't fit. |

Could just be they didn't update the site. When I was buying pads for my 340, NOBODY listed them in the aftermarket land, only the 33. Eventually went to RealOEM, checked the OEM PN's to confirm that the 335 was indeed the identical pads as the 340.

Evening all, been meaning to join Bimmerpost for a while now and have only just got round to it.
Currently looking at getting a front Strut Brace for my F31 320D M-Sport. Looking at tightening the whole thing up and I quite like the aesthetic appearance they have under the bonnet. I have had a check back through this thread and there is more information than I can handle. Would anyone be able provide guidance and a few manufacturer names on a good brace to opt for? Currently in the process of carrying out some minor mods to the car as well but will leave discussion of these for another thread. Obligatory new member photos attached. Cheers! |

Just bought my strut bar. Seems to be some conflicting messages about replacing the hex nuts or not. Have many people just re-used vs replaced? I am an LCI model so would be 6 nuts total, not that cost is an issue.

It's a similar situation to the ones you remove when doing spark plugs on the OEM brace that goes to the firewall. |

I reused them on my LCI with blue thread locker.

I meant bolts not nuts and LCI has 3 per tower that are used to attach the strut bar instead of 2 in the pre-lci Seems like an inexpensive option to help support the reused bolts. Might give that a try, thanks |

I'm a bit grated right now because the general input from everyone here and from Megan was that this would fit on a B58 F32.
And it kinda does but not really. It comes into contact with that fuse box-esque looking thing. If I remove the cover, I would be able to install the strut bar but then it looks like there's a potential to expose all the wiring to moisture? I frankly don't know what the wiring/plugs are for. It looks like it's pinching the wires but there is clearance underneath. Wondering if anybody has gone through this? I haven't tightened the assembly together yet because I'm debating if I should just return the bar, or it would be OK to leave that cover off. The cover exists for a reason.. EDIT: Did a little digging, that is apparently the ECU. Last edited by jnj2455; 03-14-2021 at 07:04 PM.. |
