TMPS - RDC module

Hello dears,

I have recently retrofitted TMPS instead of RPA to my f30 320i 2014

I have used wheel sensors#6798872 and RDC control#36106855180

after coding and tyre reset, I have successfully recieved the PSI and temperature on the Idrive screen from vehicle satus section, however the reading are flashing evry second with "active RDC with readign displeased" then "RDC failure without readign displayed"

also an "RDC failure" error message is displayed when starting the car

could you please advise with that?

F30 does not uses RDC ECU, function is included in FEM and uses antenna for remote key. Basically you have 2 x RDC ECUs hence the flashing.

Which month was the car built?
Until 02/2014 the F30 used an RDC ECU for TPMS.
The part numbers are right.

No, then @[Adrian_CRG] is right.
Your car has integrated the RDC function in the FEM and DSC and the receiver is the ecu for the remote.

One thing you can try is to change the "Zeitkriterium" to a car before 02/2014.
May be this works.

Before retrofitting the TMPS RDC contorl module,
I noticed a post discussing the same point of view that RDC function is already built in the FEM and DSC where mine is MK100,

accordingly, I tried TMPS wheels sensors#6855539 with coding but without the RDC control.
Actually, nothing happened when I tried to reset the tyres, the reset never completed, once stuck at 49% and another on time at 99%

The PSI and temperature readings with the same installed sensors finally displayed after installing the RDC control module#36106855180 with one time only successful reset- where it couldn't reset again afterthat, it keeps failing. but it was flashing as I have stated before, so I tired afterwards, wheels sensors#6798872 and it is still flashing without any successful reset aswell.

Sensors are different for RDC module compared with the ones that work on FEM. Frequency they operate is different and varies on market.

My assumption is that you installed wheel sensors older version that requires RDC ECU when your car needs newer version on FEM.
