Sorry to hear about the crash, but happy to hear no major damages to the body/engine or mods. And works well since you wanted to upgrade your bumper lol

lol cuz the only mod that was damaged was the painted side markers lol... well shoot, and my CF BMW emblem, forgot about that. But either way, being upset doesn't help anything so I was just like oh well, new bumper
I was in the same situation when I got rear ended last year. Car off the road for a month but I got a check for the OEM muffler and used it towards an axle back. Since the OEM is so stupidly expensive I got my $1900 axle back for 85% off.

Hey obriennathaniel how's the repair coming?

This monster back on the road yet?

I meant to ask you how the JB4 integration is going to work? What does it add?

Dude! Please make sure there is no vibrating at freeway speeds after the repair. So horrible, sorry man.

Boost control, that's the main function of a JB4 with a flashed ECU.

Some folks seem to be doing more than just boost control.

I'd like to understand more about how the additional fueling is controlled. Does the JB4 have a part in controlling the AFR, and what role does the split second module play? Is it just for PWM?

I can understand the ECU/flash controlling the ignition timing, but surely once the PI or TBI kicks on the trims max out and AFR goes rich.

Thanks

+1 to the, "would like to know" how to stack the flash with jb4.

JB4 only can control boost and fuel pressure indirectly by sending false voltage signals to the DME from the fuel rail, map, TMAP, and boost connector sensors. Other effects on DME behavior are merely incidental. This is why a backend flash to correct AFR etc needs to be done to create maximum power. The DME sets target AFRs, which is why tuners can make their own maps and target super rich mixtures like 11.5 the JB4 is used as a boost controller because while some want to push their engine to nearly 600whp many if not most of us don't drive with the tune set the way we do at the track, we have DD setups that pulls back 150hp or so to make the car much more drivable. The JB4 allows us to do that easily and quickly.

All of us have different "stack" setups. I don't know for sure how Nathaniel has his right now. last I remember I think he had the JB4 just as a boost controller since he stopped using meth and JB4 is not yet integrated with E sensors and PI controllers, he has Eurocharged DME flash tune for timing, limiter removal, AFR correction, and also his PDU PI split second controller is tuned by eurocharged.

I have a similar setup except I use ACF Performance as my tuner. I use ACF's flash as a BEF to correct AFR, timing, remove torque limiters, change base maps etc. but right now to change the flash tune I need the DME to be reflashed (which is relatively easy for me). I use JB4 to control boost and deal with my different fuel choices since I still use meth, C85, 93, and E50 in different situations. The JB4 only controls the additional fueling for meth right now any additional fueling from the PDU PI kit needs to be controlled by a separate controller with its own maps. Some people are working on an all in one solution but this seems very far away. Other injectors like the fuel it TBI kit are controlled by a simple pressure activated Hobbs switch, but having full control over injection maps is much more desirable. Finally I have several maps for my PI controller (Split second AIC) tuned by ACF performance which I can change with my laptop.

I have Fuel-IT PI on the car since Thursday. We are beta testing JB4 PI integration. Basically you load 1 fuel map on the AIC controller, the rpm input signal for the AIC is routed to port 9 of obd2 port. The other AIC signal is routed to the JB4.

The JB4 beta fw has logic to tell the AIC what to inject based on its base map and data from JB4. So far it seems to work nice. I ran 15 psi on E30 mix as well as 23 psi on same fuel mix. I did not have to change any setting in aic or jb4. It works on the fly.

Where is your second wire tapping now at the JB4? Mine is tapped into the unaltered TMAP voltage in the harness

The RPM signal taps into OBD2 port pin #9. The other wire taps into JB4 DB25 connector pin #9 as well.

You do need the updated JB4 beta firmware and updated AIC map. Today I ran map7 and it really works without any issue. No changes etc need to be made.

Interesting. Who should I talk to to if I wanted to try this, ask terry for the firmware? I'm on ISO3 now. My tach is already being pulled from the OBD tach pin

Guess I originally missed the notice about the accident. Sorry to see, but glad it wasn't too serious and the repair should make you happier.

No f-series pwg OBDII ISO3. I found s bug that kept me from disabling auto code delete making diagnostics really hard and terry built a new firmware last week and sent it to me. I was on The F series OBDII pwg ISO 2 previously when I found the bug and terry fixed it and sent me a new build ISO3 which in currently using.
