New Steering Wheel

I just finished all the personal touches on my new SW. I have had this M3 wheel for a while, but just got around to ordering all the parts I needed to upgrade it. I am going to be doing the paddle DIY this weekend and installing the wheel.

I bought the M3 paddle extensions and painted them Estoril Blue along with the Y trim. I finished the SW trim in carbon fiber also. When I bought the SW it came with this trim in leather...so I stripped off the leather and laid carbon fiber on it. I embedded the M logo inside the resin so it is smooth to the touch, but still looks fantastic. I think the wheel turned out great. In the last picture you can really see the CF weave and depth along with the M logo inside the resin. Can't wait to install it. Car is being coded this weekend also for sport transmission.

I will be doing a build thread soon...as I have done some custom seat stitching as well.

Great job for your self done work. If I dare to suggest: You should change the M-logo to a OEM one like this. IMO the blue tone is a little too metallic, but this may depend on the angle of the picture.

Thanks for your kind words...

this is an OEM M badge off from a leather M3 SW trim. I actually like this badge MUCH better. The one you listed has always looked cheap to me even though they are OEM. They are plastic while this one is metal.

As to the EBII, I had the paint color matched to the car (B45). There is a ton of metallic in our cars...When I held it up to the hood of my car, it matched 99% accurate...It must the extreme closeup shows off more metallic than people think or notice.

Lol. You want him to change the Original ///m3 steering wheel logo which is metal to an ordinary m sport stick on logo. You are so funny and full of crap ideas.

My sentiments exactly! I was hoping to find an M Performance badge like the ones on the M3 CF trim, but no one makes one that I saw...and I did like this metal OEM badge...so much better than the gel-coated stick on sticker!

Thanks...My middle name used to be patience...now it is short tempered at stupid drivers not getting over when I merge into traffic onto the highway...but that is another story for another day. haha

Plus wait until I show you my other DIY mod...coming soon. haha That one is patience!

OK, so it is installed...dark here now...so the picture isn't great. Will take another shot tomorrow when I don't have to use the flash and I wipe down the wheel from fingerprints.

I did not know that this is the real logo...looking more cheap like limp replicas. Just wondering that this differs so much from the rest of the M-wheel symbols.

That logo is standard on F8x SW trim...see below. It looks a billion times better than what comes on the F3x Msport wheel since it is actually metal not rubber gel coat like the Msport wheel.

I took a little better picture today...haven't found the right light yet, but this is the interior as it sits today. All CF was done by me as well as color matching the dash trim, paddles, Y trim, and gear shift trim to Estoril Blue. Almost done with the interior.
