Charge pipe help
You would think that as a former tech this would be a piece a cake, but I cannot for the life of me figure out the damn clips at the intercooler that hold the charge pipe and tic pipe in place. I thought that you just slide the plastic clip forward ( toward the front of the car) after pulling down on the metal retaining clips. It shouldn’t be that hard, so I know I’m doing something wrong. I haven’t had much luck in the past with finding videos on how to do this, and the instructions from Treadstone don’t offer any guidance on how to do this either. I even have the Bentley manual and it doesn’t state how to perform this action.
Help much appreciated. |

You should indeed be able to pull the plastic clips toward the front of the car - I just pried mine out and threw them away.
Then you can put a flat screwdriver under the metal clip that protrudes/shows from the pipe connector for about 10mm length. Then twist the screwdriver to lift the clip - this unlatches the ends of the clip that hold the pipe in place. Then while keeping the clip lifted, just pull the pipe out. |

They can be a pain for sure. Insert a flathead underneath the clip and rotate the screwdriver to pop the clip up and out of place. If I remember correctly you have to do this on two different ends of the clip. Pop one end out like this, then the other end, and you should be able to work it off.

Maybe, don't be afraid to really put some effort into it. That's the method I used.
