Upgraded clutch questions

Okay guys thinking about going bb3.4 I'm in a 2014 335i x drive manual trans. I know some people have retrofitted a 550i clutch into a 335i but I was wondering if that's the best move can anyone help or explain to actually the info on where to purchase so I can look up the specs or give me other suggestions that would be good for my car thanks in advance.

Just ordered the same clutch + flywheel for my 340i xDrive. Purchased the car last month with 30k miles on it, and the clutch was already toast; constant slipping with just BM3 Stage 2 93oct. Judging by the M stickers that were all over it, previous owner was probably a kid. Stoked to get the new clutch installed!

2+ with OEM DMFW is a great option and holds more power than the 335is/550i clutch kits. If your under 500WHP this is the way to go for sure.

And what would you suggest if I'm over 500? Could I just reuse the DMFW in there now and just put in the stage 2+ kit?

not sure the exact power limit, but in the 500's, you may start to get false misfires caused by the DMFW. so single mass would be the way to go, but now you have chatter, and having a nice car making that sound isn't that great, people at a red light might think something is wrong with your car. I think in the N54's those guys adjust their idle rpm to help eliminate chatter, or you can keep your clutch depressed when at a stop but then you shorten the life of your throwout bearing, not sure by how much and if it's even that big of an issue though. too bad their isn't a lightweight DMFW for our cars, like if the one from the M3 fit or something..

Yea I got you and that's exactly what I've been told why I was thinking spec3+ clutch with MFactory smfw if they make one for my car which I haven't found. Are there any other good smfw? I can always raise the rpms just a tad.

the don't make an Mfactory SMFW for your car? I thought the e9x and F3x 6mt's used the same gearbox, or is the flywheel different?

Stg 2 bm3 and 335 /550 clutch new no slippage. Only issue I encounter is when trying to go from 1st 2nd speed shifting she always scrapes a little going into 2nd gear. Normal driving never the case. I’m thinking perhaps a slight lockout with the stock clutch at high rpms or quick shifting. May upgrade to Spec clutch to see what happens.

The 1-2 syncro wearing out is a pretty common problem, especially when people bang the 1-2 shift a lot. Unfortunately, to my knowledge there are still no parts or rebuild kits available for the transmission, so its a full transmission replacement if you want to get rid of it.
