Chargepipes for BMS Intake

Hi all,

Haven't heard of our chargepipe being a problem, but with more options coming out + the mod bug, I figured it might be something worth looking into.

I know the FTP one can be fitted for the BMS intake with a few couplers (thanks to the person that figured that out).
Are VRSF and the CTS one also compatible (possibly with minor modifications like the FTP one)?

Are there other options that I'm forgetting/that would work better? Thanks.

chargepipe fitment isn't dependent on the intake

I have a CTS intake and ftp charge pipe I don't think the intake matters you can use any intake you want if your installing the charge pipe and intake do the charge pipe first

Turbo to TB = charge pipe.
Intake to turbo = turbo inlet.

My confusion comes from reading this: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...9&postcount=21

"Unfortunately, the BMS Intake WILL NOT FIT. You have to use OEM. I really want to use an intake too, my previous 320i N20 used to spool up like a turbo diesel truck and I absolutely loved that sound from in the cabin. This setup (OEM & FTP) you solely hear just engine, little to no intake.

I have written to BMS and Agency Power to see if they'll release a shorter intake or "optimized elbow" for those of us running the FTP pipes. I don't see why they wouldn't want to do something, but we will see.

FTP Charge Pipe is about 76mm vs 56mm wide at the top on the OEM. Other dimensions are identical (56mm)."

Seems some minor modification was necessary but easy to do and successful: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=35

That's great to hear. Looks like I should be okay then. Thanks.

2 different things. The intake pipe and charge pipe are separate. Since BMS is just a filter with a maf housing, most intake pipes will work. But it depends on the alignment of the piping. Nowadays most people match it to the williams performance intake pipe. Other intakes like Dinan, AP, AFE, etc. already come with their own upper intake pipe. So you can only mate it to an aftermarket lower pipe.

The chargepipe is separate and is not dependent on the intake.

For reference, B58 is on the right. Intake pipe is light blue arrows, charge pipe is purple arrows.
