Cool #FirstWorldBMWProblems. What has your Bimmer ruined for you?

  • I walked up to the door of my house just now (after a long day, mind you) and placed my hand on the door knob gently, waiting for it to beep and unlock my house.
  • I used my wife's car (Mercedes C250) to drive us to the store earlier, and the little hockey puck controller felt absolutely tiny and cheap compared to the one in my 430i.

I had a Jetta rental and I felt the general courtousy level on the road drop. People are generally a lot nicer to you when they see you driving a luxury sports coupe in a civilized manner as opposed to an econobox in the same manner.

Same with me, don't know what reality that guy is living in but I feel the anti-Luxury car BMW beef almost daily if I drive like a jerk. If I drive like a jerk its like "Oh ofcourse, another douchebag in a BMW". BMW is basically the ultimate douchemobile and if you don't realize that, you are in denial. All the cliches about BMW drivers exist for a reason. My wife says she feels self conscious in my car and doesn't like the feeling. IN the same sentence though she really wants the new X3 for the next car. These cars are great to drive and no other brand I have experienced thus far has the perfect blend of performance, comfort, tech and driver focused interiors/controls but they have their faults.

I am usually very considerate when I drive but I also embrace the "BMW ness". No reason I should feel bad for working hard and buying nice things for my self.

My experience is that Prius and F150 drivers have a 99% chance of driving like an asshat lol

Read my post again - you misread it. If I drive civilized (emphasis on civilized), and not like a douche, people are generally really nice.

I swear people are shocked when I let them merge, and pull out first into traffic.

Whenever I drive my wife's X5, I hop in, drop the key in the cupholder and push the start button. Then I'm confused for a second when it doesn't start before remembering I have to put the key into the slot.

When I'm loading groceries I frequently pull the rear door handle and curse when the doors don't unlock and I remember only the front doors have comfort access.

Yep same here. I? make it a point to be nice to other drivers just to see the shock on their faces ?

When my friends get new cars and get excited about the "new tech" that's been around in my BMW for at least 5 years.

Goes both ways, like when a civic comes with LED headlights and wireless charging.

When I go into m my fiancé's 328 and I'm missing my 60 or so hp. I miss my Dinan exhaust time too and the burbles.

Anytime I'm not driving a BMW I forget how boring other cars drive. BMW Just has an agileness to the drive that make people feel super confident in driving which is why I think people sometimes drive like douches.

Speaking of driving like a douchebag, not gonna lie, I’ve been driving like a douche, literally driving like I stole it, idk if it’s because I just got the car a week ago and still excited, or maybe the cars handling and agility like Calvin36 said?

Coming from a corvette, and had some other sports cars, I didn’t really push them hard or drove em like a douche, idk maybe it’s a bmw thing because I remember driving like a douche when I had a 335 several years ago

I have 2013 with comfort access and a 91 Ford F-150. Every time I walk up to my ford I push the button and pull then remember I need to get my key out to open the door?

Pardon my ignorance, but what is this EPS system you reference? And how exactly is BMW getting soft in that regard?
