Like I said, install is easy and straight forward. It's easy to change the colors with the included magnet. I'm using red but thinking about switching to orange to match the rest of the amber lighting inside...but the orange is a tad too light. Maybe I'll just stick with red.
Not throwing any codes with these. *knock on wood* |

Keep us posted! I want to see the difference between the Amber/Red/White before getting them for myself.

Installed these yesterday. Use a straight blade screw driver, pry the edge closest to the seat, pull it out, pull out the connector, plug it into the new one and pop it in. Took me longer to type that than do the install.
Brightness is better than stock, but it's not super bright..at least not with the black interior. Blue, Amber and white look good. Green and magenta are too weird for my taste. They slowly dim after the door closes, like stock. What I can't remember is, does the stock version stay lit with the interior lighting package? I can't recall if the footwell stayed lit. These ones don't. |

Depends if you have the Ambient Light Package. Footwell lights will be either a 2, 3 or 4 pin. I have the ambient light package so my footwell LED light module has 4 SMD LEDs and a 4 pin connector. Brightness and color adjusts based on settings and instrument dimmer knob. My door LED light modules have the exact same enclosure but have only two pins and one SMD LED. These are turned on when doors are opened. Brightness can be changed through coding.
FYI: I bought the BMS footwell light upgrade kit and while they had 4pins, they did not support ambient light ie they did not output a dim light while driving at night. The lights were certainly whiter and brighter (awesome) but what I really wanted was to have a brighter ambient light at night. I kept the kit and a modification for ambient is on my project list. |
