Map auto update is not working

I have got a f30 2016 BMW 328, car still has active subscription BMW connected drive automatic map update. But my navigation still has old map 2015-4.
I tried to update map by flash card with North America evo 2019-3, but navigation asked FSC code which I don't have.
I changed online region to TX, but nothing changed is the car.

Anyone can help me to clear it?

I had the same issue. Back in April/May of this year, I downloaded the latest version and tried to update via USB when my automatic map update subscription was still active, but it asked for the FSC code. The person who had uploaded the updated maps suggested that I didn't have an active subscription and that I would have to buy an FSC code to perform the update, although the Connected Drive page indicated that my subscription was active until 08/31/2019. I was only one version behind on the complete map data and so, I didn't bother at the time.

It's a 2016 model.....doesn't it have over the air map updates like my 2016 F36?

My 2016 F30 had OTA updates, but I believe OTA updates are free of charge only for the first 3 years. After that a subscription is required.

OP shows ota updates until feb 2020. The base maps do not get updated OTA. Just the regions. I would go to the dealer and ask them to do it. You are entitled to it. If OTA is not working,they can do it. They will update the base maps.
Did you just get the car? Why you would try to do it yourself when you have a subscription is a question for another time.

I have noticed some transfer activity today...

TX state map 2016-1 was added. But base map still 2015-4...

Get in touch with the connected drive team.

I had a similar problem with my car - the services showed in the Idrive didn't match with the connected drive portal. They had to sort it manually (took them aaaaages) but OTA maps seem to be working fine since.

I'm in the UK but can't see it being any different for you!

Good that it seems to be working, but FYI...I received either 2019-1 or 2019-2 for TX before my subscription expired.

As I said. Base map doesn’t change. I don’t understand why you are getting 3 year old maps. You are entitled to current maps. Bring it in.

Today we called to BMW Connected Drive Team. One guy from the team advice me go to BMW dealership and to buy a navigation update service. Brilliant!!!

I asked him why I have to pay for it if I have an active subscription for OTA? He said one moment pls. lol. So I dont know what to say after that. But I can say BMW Connected Drive support is useless!!!

BMW CDT guy could not tell me even what is the latest version available for navigation right now. He advice me just to wait OTA updates, navigation could be updated no more than 4 times per year.

I called to closest BMW dealership, they charge $300, another $163 for update my navigation. And it's with active subscription. holly molly.

This. I just looked it up. It's still annoying that my wife's 2016 Kia SUV with nav was updated for free by me and it included Apple CarPlay for free as well. It's disappointing at this stage in car tech. Euro "Premium " brand or not. That and the lack of HIDs as a standard feature but I digress.

I’d escalate this. You are entitled to the maps. If OTA doesn’t work,they should do it. 6 months after I got my car,the maps hadn’t been updated. The dealer updates the base maps. OTA just does regions. If you bought it from BMW dealer,I’d talk to the sales manager first.

We bought a used car not from BMW dealer as is, two weeks ago. Factory warranty still is active...but... I talked with service manager about navigation week ago when car was serviced by BMW dealership. She said navigation update is out of our maitenance plan and dealership charge $163 for map update.

This is not a maintenance issue. This is a warranty issue. Again,it’s no different than any other broken part. If the dealer won’t fix it,I’d contact Bmw CS. I wouldn’t let it go. But that’s me.

If you do a bit of research there are sharing sites where you can get 2019 maps. Once you have the correct set, the files can be copied to a USB drive and uploaded to the car that way. The FSC code will still be needed but this can be found by connecting to the cars computer and using ESYS (not sure if carly or bimmercode can do this). There are tons of threads on this forum outlining all of these steps. Good luck.

Yes,that’s true. But this is a different issue. This is getting what OP is entitled to.
Besides,OP states that he has already tried that.

Thanks. I already have a copy of maps 2019-3. This is next step. By the way I'm waiting esys cable from aliexpress to extract FSC code...

Make sure the USB drive is formatted as FAT32/MBR. If you did this on a mac then you may run into problems. It would probably be best to format the drive on a windows machine to be absolutely certain.

Fiasco. I have a HU_NBT2, so it's impossible to extract FSC code using e-sys anymore.
By the way I have got a 2019-3 for TX.
And I removed annoying disclaimer after engine start. 😄

As already stated, the Dealer will charge you to install the maps.

Dealer has no obligation to load maps.

Connected Drive Subscriptions after the first 3 complimentary years are a transaction between you and BMW, bypassing the Dealer.

The Dealer gets nothing from your subscription and BMW does not pay Dealers to work on those issues.

So please stop constantly repeating here that Dealer will fix it for free.

Complain to BMW NA. They are the only one making money on the subscription and can do anything.

Dealers have nothing to do with Connected Drive Subscriptions.

You are complaining to wrong Company.
