First oil change performed by me on wife's 2013 328i xDrive (F30) since dealer free maintenance plan ended. Dealer changed it a year ago. Drain plug had rounded corners & was gorilla-grunted on! Torqued it & filter cap properly (25 Nm) upon completing oil drain.

Why'd you hard wire it?... I would've just left it plugged into the socket near the glove box...

Oh man rounded corners? hope you got a new drain plug... very concerning not sure about our f30s but most of the drain plug threads are aluminum that's concerning... My first bmw (e30) I took to get an oil change and the jackass was using an impact wrench to put the plug back on. I flipped a shit they ruined the oil pan. Made them pay for the replacement

I like the cleaner look of not having the coil cord hanging across the mirror/dash plus since I am in TX, I always use a sunshade when parked to prevent the interior from reaching nuclear level temperatures and plugging and unplugging it gets old.

Yea, seems like anytime the car is coded the presets are erased. That was a bit annoying.

I gave up on the presets myself I can never stick with the current setup and am always tweaking something in there so it just isn't worth it anymore

Do you by chance have diy on this? I'm looking to do the same. Currently using mirror tap for my V1 but want to add conceal display.

thanks!

It's not hard the easiest way is to do an add a circuit and tie it into the radio

As vooonoo said, it is pretty easy. I saw 3 main options. Tap into fuse block, but that involves running and hiding lots of wire from back to front. Tap into power in the mirror/sunroof area, but with the V1 LE Bluetooth module, I needed more space, so I went with 3rd option which was using the accessory socket under the glove box. The biggest downside of this option is that the power is not switched, so I have to remember to turn the V1 off.

Basically I pulled back the door weather seal around the A pillar area by pulling back on it towards the rear of the vehicle, removed the small panel on the passenger side of the dash, removed 2 10mm nuts (where is that damn socket anyway?!?!) in the trim panel under the glove box and removed it by pulling down on the front to release the tabs and then pull it backwards toward the rear of the vehicle. Unplug the two wire connectors attached to that trim panel, one for the accessory socket and the other for the footwell light. I ran the flat power cord from the left side of the rear view mirror where my V1 is mounted, under the headliner along the windshield, across the top of the A pillar trim and then down the A pillar trim and into the area where I removed that small trim panel on the side of the dash. I used a 3M Scotchlock connector to tap into the red w/yellow stripe wire and the red power wire with fuse from the V1 kit. I had to peel back the black tape to expose this wire enough for the connector. I used the torx head screw (I think that it was a T20) that supports the airbag unit to the car for my ground wire. I cleaned up the loose wire with some zip ties and used double sided tape to prevent the Bluetooth module and V1 junction box from bouncing around and then reinstalled the trim pieces. Took less than an hour of actual work and could probably be done in under 30 min if I could just focus - SQUIRREL! Also, I highly recommend getting the V1Driver app for your phone if you have not already. Really helps to quite it down and customize it. PM me with any questions, I am happy to assist.

Just dropped my car off to have the passenger side comfort access via the door handle fixed under warranty.

While I was there, they told me my car had a recall on it. Not sure what the recall could be...should've asked, but from what I'm finding on the internet, F30s haven't had a recall since 2016. I've taken my car into service many times and asked about recalls, to which they've always said "no, there's nothing". Now all of a sudden there's a recall? Questionable.

Added the first piece of carbon fiber trim. I had to get a F80 trim piece because of the eDrive button.

It's an actual real carbon fiber part. You have to be real careful when buying as there is lots of fake Chinese vinyl lookalike junk out there.

Did you change your console frame ? I'm referring to the plastic piece that covers your radio and temperature controls. Yours is in matte finish. If you did - would you happen to have a part # to it ?

The one I was able to find is # 64119306450, but I just want to be sure.
