BM3 has only been on my car for a couple weeks so I've probably been a bit more aggressive on throttle than usual. On JB+ I was averaging 26MPG without really trying, now on BM3 it is looking like 24.5. It makes sense to me since only now do I have modified fueling and timing. Leads me to believe that JB+ was running the car pretty lean...

I just wanted to report that I got my BM3 last week. I haven't driven the car much but here's my initial impressions.
I'm running the stage 1 map on 91 octane. 2013 328I F30 Sportline N26 automatic trans. The car definitely gets up and moves! I pull away from traffic lights and leave everyone in the dust, and I'm not really trying. One thing I did notice that in comfort mode when I'm cruising along and I want to pass someone or accelerate, there's a long delay before it downshifts. I have to really get on the gas and wait a bit for the car to realize I want to go faster, right now. This only happens in comfort mode, with normal shifting. If I put it into sport shift mode then it downshifts fine. If it's in sport mode, it also downshifts and gets up and boogies. The delay is real noticeable in comfort mode, normal shift. I haven't tried Eco mode, never use that. As for gas mileage, I've only driven it in the city and my gas mileage is horrible. 16 mpg. But that could be because I haven't driven much and the computer still needs to adapt and adjust. Also, I hit a lot of red lights. I'm hoping my mpg will improve. I will be installing the FTP charge pipes this week because I'm now worried about cracking my stock pipes, they seem prone to failure. I'll do the pipes first then when I get more money I'll do the intercooler. I'm thinking about the CSF one. The unfortunate thing is this, when I felt how much faster and smoother my car now goes with BM3, I want more, more, more. $$$$ |

After years of glancing at BM3...you have to load it with a laptop, license, and cable, correct?
My car WAS tuned but I lost it when they swapped the engines and reflashed the DME. I miss the power the car had...stock is boring ....

Yep, that's all you need: laptop, license and cable. It really doesn't get much easier.
