M-sport 328: (Not applicable for PPK)

· Larger openings and vents in the front bumper cover

· Auxiliary radiator on the right side

· 850W cooling fan

M-sport 335i:

· Larger openings and vents in the front bumper cover

· Additional engine oil cooler on the left

· Auxiliary radiator on the right side

· 850W cooling fan
I don't get it. So if we have this installed at dealer, they have to install those parts and cut vents or?

He was just pointing out the additional cooling the msport has (although some of that is available on the sport line I'm pretty sure). He wasn't saying it is part of the ppk, merely the ppk requires the msport additional cooling components that the other lines don't have all of.

Mark,

After a lot of research, BMW has come out with a BMW M Performance Power Kit. The kit just became available in March. I have the part number 11 122 234 336 the price is $1100 plus an hour of labor. What I have not found is what it does for you. The other one that was on the list is only grills and exhaust combined. I will take 10% off of all the performance items for you.

So it looks like I'm good to go and he gave me a discount (surprisingly) and of course you were all right about the exhaust and grilles package at 1850....thanks for all the info...if I found out anything else I'll let ya know

Please do a before and after dyno if you could! Or anyone else who is getting it, would be a huge help to a lot of us!

BS

My parts guy said it hasn't been released, and that part number didn't even register.

What dealership did you speak with?

BMW PERFORMANCE POWER KIT (FOR VEHICLES WITH M BUMPER)
More horsepower; more torque and unlimited exhilaration. With sporty performance, outstanding driving dynamics and innovative technology, the Version 2 Power Kit maintains all of BMW's key attributes but allows you to put a personal touch on your BMW. This Power Kit contains the same engine performance software as Version 1, plus an Auxiliary Water Cooler and an Enhanced Radiator Fan to reduce the higher thermal stresses on the engine during extreme driving. The Performance-Optimized Engine Software provided by the Version 2 Power Kit increases torque to 332 lb-ft (automatic transmissions) or 317 lb-ft (manual transmissions) available from just 1,500 rpm. Power output is increased by 20 horsepower, from 300hp to 320hp. This results in faster acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (0.2 seconds faster than the standard model) and from 50 mph to 75 mph (0.5 seconds faster than the standard model). Even with this increased power, the fuel consumption and emissions ratings remain the same as they were with the standard model. The Version 2 Power Kit also adds a very sporty exhaust burbling noise during engine overrun conditions. BMW Power Kits are the only form of “tuning kits†approved and covered under the BMW of North America limited warranty. Power Kits are designed and tested by BMW engineers to provide the highest power increase without sacrificing reliability

My salesman told me its going to be $1,508. My car is in transit and they going to install it at the port. #335xi m sport

Hold on! "For vehicles with M Bumper" ?? Which means if you retrofit a M bumper, you may get the PPK?

And I did not know that the PPK for F30s too will come in two versions. Are you sure this description is not pulled from the PPK for E9x ?

by the way Arizona BMW dealers are the most laid back when it comes to after sales accessories. The parts department told me that they would call me back about the PPK and they never bothered to

That information has been on the m performance site for months, ever since they first released information on the ppk. Not sure if he got it from a new source, but the information and wording hasn't changed in 6 months. Well minus the m sport bumper blurb, that's new.

Ok, this information has actually been there for a couple years since this information is for the PPK for the E9x platform (e.g. current 335i coupe)

The information pasted by Edwin is copied straight from the PPK description for a 335i coupe on the bmwusa website (and probably also available on other bmw web sites) -- note this talks about version 1 and version 2 PPKs.

The PPK for F30 will likely not have any versions/stages - at least not from the description posted on the bmw global website. There is no mention yet of this PPK in the BMW USA website.

I would copy/paste the correct description for the "F30" PPK from the BMW global site but lukeb817 actually already did that in post #1 of this thread !

Edwin - Your BMW dealer is probably getting confused with the wrong PPK.

I just did the same thing as mine is supposed to arrive to VPC next week. My CA says right now the only PPK available is for the coupe (ie. E9x platform) and none yet available for the F30... If you get any different response please let me know because I'd love it have it installed on delivery!

Good to know...I don't care as much where it gets installed as long as it's a real part and is finally available....

I just went to my dealer and spoke to my salesman he was looking on the BMW website for the MPPK and it wasn't available for the 335xi sedan. But then he went to speak to the sales manager and the manager told him that it's available now. The cost is $1,370 port install. Black kidney grills & the horsepower upgrade included in the kit. So I ordered it, I'm going to pay $1,300 for it! My car is due at the Port of Bayonne, NJ in about a week.!!!!

Sounds suspiciously like the power pack that only includes exhaust and grills, not the actual software PPK upgrade.

The PPK being installed at the port is the exhaust and grilles - I know, because I had that done on my car. The M-Performance power pack will need to be installed by dealers, because if a new DME is included, they'll need to code in the dealership code and so forth. It's unlikely they'll be installing the MPPK at the port for that reason.
