I can't imagine Chicago not having 3D Maps. They work here in downtown Houston.

Hello everybody,

I have a serie 3 F31 with Business Navigation (the small screen) and the type of map used with this version is MOVE.
I try to generate the fsc code for a new version of map, but I don't know the correct parameter for generate the 1B/DE file.
In the e-sys tool, i try with:

Diag Address: 0x63
Base Variant: HU_CIC
AppID: 0x1B
Index: 0x01 (or 1)

and

Diag Address: 0x63
Base Variant: HU_NBT
AppID: 0xDE
Index: 0x01 (or 1)

But I always have an error (G058).
Do you know the correct parameter in e-sys for generate the file for the navigation business?

Your problem is the Base Variant for 606 Business Navigation won't be HU_CIC or HU_NBT. I think it will be HU_CHAMP.

Fortunately, you do not have to enter this. After you put the Diagnostic Adress of 0x63 in, just hit the "Identify" button next to Base Variant field, and it will query the ECU and populate the Base Variant field for you automatically.

Got it to show by unclicking the satelight overlay but didn't like the pixelated graphics so went back to the way I had it without the 3d images (still with perspective 3d view).

The problem was that I did not connect me in VIN mode but in gateway url or icom/ethernet in the esys tool.
So in these mode, the button "Identify" does not work.
In VIN mode, all is ok and the base variant detect for me is HU_CHAMP2.

I downloaded and updated the maps, which it says was successful. I am unsure what the activation code is for or how to apply it. Did I not need an activation code?

It may ask you later, or maybe never ask at all. It happens that way some times, but it's maybe only .01% of the updates.
