BMW B48 Engine Rebuild DIY with Forged Pistons and Rods
Engine Rebuild S1 E1 DIY -

Nice!!! This'll be sweet to watch.
I have a B46 and I really want to put a pure400 stage 2 in it and upgrade the pistons, rods, and crank shaft and boost it to high heaven. Looking forward to the premier!

Although, being modular, I have read that the B46 in the F series has the SAME CRANK as what is in the B58, just missing two pistons. In which case, yeah, they can handle SERIOUS power. Even better, the B48 is closed deck. Hello boost!

BMW F30 330e Hybrid B48 Location – Trinidad 🇹🇹 Details: • Removal of starter • Unbolting of transmission oil cooler • Removal of hood shocks and support • Removal of downpipe bracket • Support engine with cherry picker • Removal of engine mounts • Removal of engine/transmission bolts • Disconnection of transmission jack and cable to remove • Disconnection of all additional cables, coolant hoses, ect • Shift oil cooler and AC compressor to the side • Removal of engine • Mounting engine to engine stand • Removal of engine cover by crank pully and coolant lines • Turn engine and lock in TDC Thanks for watching and subscribe to say updated  |

BMW F30 330e Hybrid B48 Location – Trinidad ���� Details: • Removal of HPFP • Removal of connectors and engine harness • Removal of fuel rail • Removal of injectors • Removal of intake and exhaust actuators • Removal of cylinder head cover • Removal of timing chain tensioner and guide • Turn engine and lock on TDC • Removal of timing chain and secure • Removal of oil lines on turbo • Removal of cylinder head • Initial inspection of cylinder head and block Thanks for watching and subscribe to say updated |

Hopefully this helps the BMW community �� Details: • Removal of sound insulation at the bottom of engine • Disconnect connector for oil level sensor • Removal of oil sump • Removal of oil pump • Removal of windage tray • Main bearing cap removal and inspection • Clearance test on main bearing • Reinstall main bearing • Removal of pistons • Inspection of pistons and cylinder walls |

Hopefully this helps the BMW community Details: • Installing ECU, coolant hoses/bottles, wiring were done prior • Installation of oil and coolant • Installation of 12V auxiliary battery, 12V battery in trunk and HV battery • Coolant Bleed Procedure • Injector Test • Installation of injectors and fuel rail • Compression test • Installation of plugs and coil packs • Connection of coil packs and injectors • First start up • Review fault codes and rectification • Inspection for oil or coolant leaks • Inspection of oil and coolant level • Test drive |
