Chromebooks
Anyone got any experience or recommendations on Chromebooks? Looking to replace an ageing laptop. Only for home use - browsing etc.

Yes i am using a Acer now that filps the screen over tent like for watching films...i find them great for emailing, browsing, writing letters..Quick start up and no issues. 2nd one i have had now.

google and currys are running a no risk 90 day trial

You can get a half decent windows laptop for £400, so i’m not really sure what the point of Chromebooks is? If you want a more app based experience, then surely an iPad with a keyboard case would be a better option?

I bought a cheap £140 one (Acer) pretty good and battery life very impressive.

Did that for my oldest sister. She had an Android tablet that she couldn't get on with so I get her the basic 32Gb iPad for £319. She's happy doing email, browsing, internet shopping and looking at photos on it now, plus if she has a question she can ring Apple not me!
