multile WiFi signals?!

Hello again-
Hope a tech guy can explain and help me out with an issue.
(Have just sent a detailed email to Blackvue too)!

I have a 2017 440ix Cabrio (MSport w/MPPSK!)
It has the Wifi Hotspot. However, I no longer use it cause I figured I'd save the 15$ a month to ATT.
I also have a BlackVue dashcam (DR650)
It has a Wifi Hotspot.
I'm an apple guy with an Iphone 8 through TMobile.

Sometimes when I get into my car, I notice that my phone doesn't seem to be working with regards to some of the apps. Then I look and see the little WiFi signage on the phone.
Go to settings, and the Phone has connected to the DR650 Wifi signal.
I then have to go into the settings to turn off WiFi so my phone goes into Data mode..

However, I have just signed up for the Cloud service from Blackvue but not sure how that is going to work with regards to Wifi.
Ironically enough, siting here in the living room with the car in the garage I'm able to see the dashcam on the BV App. Of course, now I'm also getting all kinds of 'motion detection' alerts for some reason!
Phone is connected to the houses WiFi. Not sure what the Car/Dashcam is connected to. But will be driving to dinner later and will see what happens when I'm in the restaurant but the car is in the lot.

Help?!

Thanks
Motch

PS) Below is the email I sent to BlackVue

Hello.
I hope you can assist me with an issue I am having with my car/dash cam/Iphone/wifi

I have your cam set up in my car. Love it. But recently, something strange has started to happen.
I have a 2017 BMW 440. It has a Wifi hotspot in the car but I do not have it activated through ATT. Did not want to spend the money every month as I really don't have use for it. I have a data plan on my Iphone that works great, doesn't cost extra and have no issues with running over my plan.

I have noticed that sometimes when I am in my car, my phone will automatically connect to the wifi of the dashcam. DR650GW-F0CD1C.
When it does this, it disables my phone from being used by numerous apps as I then don't have any data!
My work around is to go to the settings of my phone and turn WiFi off, thereby forcing the phone to use Data.

But yesterday I noticed that when I went to look for something on the dashcam's SD card, numerous time events didn't show GPS data and the dual function of the forward cam and rear cam were gone. It doesn't seem to have recorded the rear cam.

Today, I went in to update the software/firmware and then I decided to purchase the cloud plan. 9.99$ a month.
I am able to see my forward cam using the app, while sitting in my living room! Good.
I will try it again later when I am out to dinner to see if I am able to view the cam.

Guess I want to know why my phone switches to the dashcam wifi when I get into the car, and how to stop that.
Also want to confirm that my dashcam will now record to the cloud so that I can access the stuff at a later date. I was looking for a video from a few days ago and it's not on my SD card as it seems the cam is recording non stop!
Using a 32GB card but have just ordered a 64GB.

Last thing.. for the last few minutes I have had the Live video up on my phone.. should the cam always be on? I have received a 'motion' alert yet there was nothing happening in the garage.

Thanks
Motch

PS> If you have someone who is a dedicated Blackvue specialist in the NYC area, I would gladly go there and talk to them.. and probably have them do an install of your new -900

iPhones will connect to first WiFi they find from your list of WiFis.

They always check 2Ghz before 5Ghz which pisses me off, but both of these issues are Apple issues, not Blackvue issues.

If you have the BlackVue WiFi info saved in your iPhone , it is going to connect to that WiFi in the car instead of TMobile 4G (or any other carrier).

You need to tell your iPhone to forget the Blackvue network so it will not try connect.

And I hope you have not given the iPhone permission to automatically connect to unknown networks?

Also, need to make sure the builtin Car WiFi is not transmitting if you are not subscribed to a Data Provider.
