I have a BSM f30 and I love it, when it's clean. IMHO nothing beats a black car when she is clean. Now the kicker, operative word is "clean". I have owned many, many black cars and the real issue is keeping them clean. I spend hours washing it and hours later she is dirty. Again, not so much that she's dirty because truth is any color gets dirty at the same rate but it shows up super fast on black. I did buy a California duster but one without paraffin. That helps a lot between washes. It's great for that layer of dust that develops overnight. But to answer the question. I say Mineral grey all the way. I love that color and that will be my next car color for sure. Congrats on your new 4 series.

I love my Mineral Gray Metallic The only other color I would have preferred is Alpine White. Also, what kind of wheels are on the 4 series photo? Should I wait until next Spring to get a 3-season wheel/tire set or will the selection be the same (basically wondering if the 4 series will introduce new styles)?

MG all day. I get complainants all of the time and I can't stop staring! My neighbor has black and it is meh.

Definitely Mineral Gray Metallic! Black cars only look good when spotless, whereas the MGM will almost always look good. Also, over time, tires dull and look "brownish" against the black. I have MGM and love it!

I know this is a really old thread, but I thought it was amusing that in 2018 I am now having exactly the same crisis of confidence about the same colours – I just can't choose between Sapphire Black and Mineral Grey. I have ordered the black but have a window of opportunity to change my mind!

Had a black 435 & now a MG 440. Like the MG better.

Black looks best when clean... WHEN CLEAN.
Mineral Grey is more forgiving, and with either red or brown interior looks great.

As others have said, when clean, Black Sapphire looks amazing. Personally I think red interior is more sporty with Black. I love MG but would hands down choose BSM if red inside. Even the sport-line rubber winter mats are black/red. BTW, I have BSM with black leather. I also have wheel spacers for a flush look, which sling more road water on your panels because they're not tucked into wheel wells like stock. That being said, once I got the Optimum coating put on, seems like nothing sticks and my car always looks clean and the shine is super deep gloss. Obviously stuff still builds up and needs a washing but nothing like before the coating. Driving in a rainstorm has actually cleaned pollen and dust off with very little water spots when dry. The car is still dirty but visually looks clean. I drive in the snow in CT winters and do have to wash the new gel stuff off, but again nothing like before. My vote is BSM.

Love both. Own a BSM, when clean it is sparkling and reflective, a real looker. People complement it all the time. But yes I also don't slack on giving it a 10 min wipedown or 2 with Meguiar's ultimate detailer in between washes ( I get a decent hand wash at my spot every 2 or 3 weeks at the very least) cause I'm anal about having a car too dirty. Mine usually looks at least decent all the time.

I just had a similar debate before ordering my 340...I already have a charcoal grey car so I decided to go with the sapphire black. I feel like the metallic flake pops more on the Black color when its in good sunlight too.

I have BSM now and if I had the choice between that and MG now, I'd choose MG in a heartbeat. Unless you love washing your car with an incredible amount of painstaking detail, I'd get the MG. All you need to do is push too hard when washing/drying your car or even use a wash mitt or drying towel with one piece of dirt/impurity to ruin a perfect look on a BSM car.
