I did notice after I flashed it that during city driving and coming to a stop and taking off it feels like when a clutch is engaging in a manual, but it's not always, I still personally believe the transmission flash is great. You can't even tell when the car shifts.

Running Stage 1 on 91 Octane, 2015 435i with 8-spd automatic.
Flashed the tranny tune 04/19/2020.

COMFORT MODE - No noticeable change here. I believe the RPM shifts hold longer and shifts are faster but when I am in comfort-mode, I'd have to be driving more aggressively to probably notice. But then again, I don't usually drive aggressively in comfort mode.

SPORT MODE - I'd say it's just as crisp and fast as stock, but with an edge to it - in a good way. However, if you going to consider driving it daily in Sport mode, it does shift a more abruptly... so you will have to make a choice to use Sport for REALLY driving sporty because stop light/stop sign low-speed turns may be a tad jerky.

MANUAL SHIFTS
a. Paddle shifter - Works without issue or delay. Upshifts and downshifts are as instantaneous as stock.
b. Console shifter/selector - Works without issue or delay. Upshifts and downshifts are as instantaneous as stock.

Overall, I'm good with it. COMFORT mode is so much like driving in sport now but smoother.

You better drive again in Sport Mode... what do you mean sport mode is just as crisp and fast as stock. Sport mode is shift up hard and fast, there is a big difference in in engagement and the downshift is quicker... you need to fine tune your BUTT-ometer.

Comfort is fast but shift up way to fast anyway unless you drive in a S mode (lever to the left) and then it hold the gear.

But maybe the transmission wasn't flash on your car properly.

@Gen13 F36 - not sure what you are asking. But with the software flash AND tranny tune, there's already a lot going on here. My point was, COMFORT isn't uncomfortable. SPORT is faster, but not as casual to drive in as before.

It's the tune...this is why sport mode is not as casual to drive in. The extra power and considering that the transmission shift point hasn't change. It feels like your hang up on the high RPM longer. You need to practice or control your foot pressure on the gas pedal. I finally got a hang of it.

Comfort is just comfort...nothing new there

@Gen13 F36 - Ah gotcha. I agree with you. Going to need some more road and twisty time to really enjoy the new SPORT transmission threshholds and BM3 tune.

Hey just curious about this TCU flash, i tried to reflash back to stock and it said successful and did all the necessary things afterwards, when i was driving it i flipped it over (left) an it used to show "DS" as stock and "S1,etc" TCU flashed. Well it still shows as "S1,etc", i thought it would show the stock DS display, did i screw this up???

I never heard of DS appearing on the display, not on mine, it was always S1 to S7, never use S8 ever.

I think you imagining things.

When flashing back to stock... Transmission also go back to stock.

Thanks for the overview. I flashed BM3 Stage 1 93 octane a few months ago. Had been holding off on the trans tune until nicer weather comes around. I think it's about time to check it out.

I am pretty surebit was that way before the flash, i don't have the Sport model. Before the flash it never showed the gears your in when in Sport Auto, just DS and D.

You're not imagining it. Cars without sport auto just show DS when the trans is in sport mode (level tapped over) but still in auto mode.

Mine doesn’t even shift it sits at redline and sounds like it’s gonna blow up

Okay all this Trans Flashing is getting me head upspun lol..When u guys are referring to the Manual Mode, ur saying with either the paddle shifters or the center console stick, if so don't these two options need to be "Manually" shifted, at least mine has to or else i am bumping that redline..Also i ended up reflashing the BM3 Upgraded Trans again and for me its smooth and quick, and in "S" auto modes it shifts also quick and smooth with that farting..

I'm new to BM3, just flashed 91 octane Stage 1 map to my 330i xDrive, but I purchased the OTS map pack, and when I go to the transmission page like this I don't see any options at all... am I doing something wrong?

Edit: Just confirmed that the trans flash isn't available for B46/B48 cars yet.

Tried it when you put it in manual it won’t shift for you or even let you shift in the up top rev range under WOT definitely smooth though when you allow the car to shift

My car went for the last time for services and I have a couple things want fixed. So I flash back to stock including transmission flash.

Once I got back my car I immediately flash bm3 s1 including the transmission flash BUT now they is this weird transmission feeling shifting up during WOT above 6k rpm shift. I can't describe it... the best I can describe it is double thud sound. This was not happening before.
