As a guy said to my dad once while he was working on the cheap Hyundai Scoupe he bought for peanuts to commute in once said, "You know what's wrong with that Hyundai? It's a Hyundai!"

Also I might add... i have a few friends that drive the Kia stinger and g70... the only gripe they always tell me is when they come to the dealer for service. For that much money the experience should be top notch😉

The front of the G70 is hideous.

BMW service can be stellar or terrible. Definitely not Lexus like.

The quality and reliability of modern Hyundais is pretty darn good. My Dad drove a 2001 Sonata for 16 years without any major repair or breakdown, just regular maintenance.

3800 lbs for the new bmw? Did it gain that much weight?
Why this comparison. Makes no sense. New 340 runs low 12s and is no match for the Hyundai. 330 would make more sense price and performance wise. |

My only complaint in the car is the seat bottoms are pretty short and there isn't much thigh support. Quote:
I can vouch for the M340 being quick. At the M Town Tour I drove a M2 Competition and the M340 back-to-back. The M340 felt every bit as quick as the M2 in situations I could safely try out on public roads. It didn't feel like it weighed 3800 lbs, and I actually thought it felt lighter than my 435 or other 340's I've driven in the past. |

This is probably why Genesis will come to your house and swap out your car with a loaner when it needs service. You never have to set foot in the dealership while the free service plan lasts. Too bad Stinger owners don't have the same option. |

Odd how everyone says BMWs are expensive to maintain but no one comments on the Kia powertrain warranty of 10 years 100k, which blows away just about everyone else’s.

Since nearly 60% of all BMW's are leased (58% according to a 2016 Edmunds article). I don't see BMW having any incentive to offer a longer warranty. They only need to cover the first owner across the life of the lease.
For the few of us who buy new or nearly new/CPO it would be nice, but longer warranties would cut into profits made off extended service and warranty plans. |

While the M340i is certainly faster, they're still in the same general class of car. The G70 3.3t is much closer in performance to an M340i than a 330i.

Just remembered I had a yellow Hyundai Veloster as rental for about two weeks when I moved for work, it was a fun little car, easy to park Nothing against reliability of Hyundai/Genesis, probably more reliable than BMW over long term, way cheaper maintenance too, BUT, if performance is my primary concern then I'd never choose a Hyundai over a BMW or even Audi for that matter.

The brand does come with some reputation baggage (most of it unfounded these days) and their dealer network certianly doesn't help. Genesis has an uphill battle to get people to not always associate them with Hyundai.
I don't remember, but Lexus and Infiniti's were never sold in Toyota/Nissan dealerships when they first came out did they? I don't think Acura did either. That probably made things much easier to market and get people to not think Toyota/Nissan/Honda when they heard the name. |

Buddy at work has the G70 sport. Car is fast, is tight, build quality is outstanding. Even comes with cross stitched seats for a much lower price point.
Looking around and inside the car, they basically hand picked all the good stuff from other brands. Audi cross stitched seats, BMW 5 series rear clip, etc. His car is slick looking, and I'd seriously consider it if I was looking for a new ride. I haven't driven it, so I cannot comment on how the weight balance and handling is compare to my 340. |
