As soon as I put it into park, I could immediately feel the difference in throttle response, torque, and sound even at extremely low speeds. This was a great feeling, but immediately trumped when I was able to really hit it on the highway. It was raining when I picked it up, and I still have original continental run flats on the car, but man did that thing go.

I will take some videos tomorrow of the cold start, revving, 0-60, etc, but for now I am just sitting in awe of what my car has turned into. I am ashamed that BMW didn't make the car come like this out of the factory, because this is how it should have been delivered to everybody.

I could not be happier with the work done by GTPeace Automotive, and Frank Smith. The experience with Galen and Shawn over at GTPeace was nothing short from excellent, and their knowledge and friendliness made working with them so enjoyable and relaxing. I learned a lot and was impressed by how experienced those two are in the auto industry. I can not recommend them enough for people in the DMV area, and will definitely be going back to them in the future for any further work or modifications

I was not able to get the dyno done tonight as it was too late once I had picked up the car and take it on a test drive. Once I am able to go to one, I will post the numbers up here for comparison. Fingers crossed I am able to make it down on Saturday morning. Until then, all I can say is wow, if you haven't thought about a tune and bolt-ons, you are simply missing out on a truly amazing experience.
Nice, now to enjoy it.

Mode list was done at the end ok.

Final Update
Dyno Day!

So the day has finally come, I was able to bring my car to a dyno for the results. Before we get into the pictures I would like to clarify a few things.
  • Because the original dyno was in dyno dynamics conversions, I had this dyno in dynamics as well.
  • BUT because every vendor of performance upgrades used dynoJet numbers, I also got a readout in the dynoJet numbers for comparison.
  • This is with all-wheel drive, which I calculated at a 21% drivetrain loss (300hp at crank and 237.7 at wheels stock). So if you were to have a rear wheel drive car, you can assume more power (anywhere from 343-363 when considering a 10-15% drivetrain loss).
  • Finally, don't just look at the final numbers and say they are too small for your liking, look at the original numbers and compare the area under the curve. I was able to gain 80WHP and 110WTQ on an xDrive!

I could not be happier with the car(other than BMS intake giving me issues) and didn't need the dyno to tell me how fast this thing is now!

Congrats on the results OP! I know the car feels like a whole new animal now. I love mine now too after a few mods. I do wish BMW added a little bit bigger turbo for the N55 platform though :-p

There's nothing good around me, and I don't want to deal with flushing the tank afterward. But maybe once I get my M3

Finally got this edited together for anyone wondering what the exhaust sounds like given the tune and de-catted downpipes, everything else being stock regarding exhaust. This is WITHOUT the burble addition in the tune, as I felt this was enough for me at the moment. Enjoy!

wow, that intercooler looks like a much higher quality piece than the oem ic. jeez. and at that price point. i might have to go for that and the CP next. doesn't sound like you had fitment issues other than the rusted bolts. any issues so far?

I also have the FTP charge pipe but with ER Competition intercooler. This is a supporting mod but my recommendation is to swap out the hose clamps for better ones like these.

I didn't want to do the meth upgrade as this is a daily driver and I didn't need it to be anything crazy or something I had to keep my eye on constantly. I was considering upgrading the in-tank fuel pump, diverter valve, adding an oil cooler, possibly oil catch, simple coding, and some rims, but that isn't on the top of my priority list right now. Frank helped me through a lot of this at the beginning, as well as others who work with him. I was up at school so I had a lot of time to decide on what I wanted, and he was able to call and email me, answering any questions I had along the way before I pulled the trigger. Once I actually went through with everything, I went by my local shop GTPeace who orignally got me in touch with Frank, and the entire process took about a day to complete. I will say that just recently I had a transfer case replaced under warranty, and when they updated the software they erased the tune by accident. This would have happened with any tune on the market, and Frank/GTPeace had no problem re-tuning my car and writing the new software for it. Honestly so glad I found out about this tune, and don't have any negative things to say about the entire experience.

No issues so far other than the transfer case listed above, but that didn't have anything to do with the tune. These transfer cases have an extremely high failure rate, and given the GT is a fairly low production count, there wasn't much extra engineering put in, or at all, for the additional weight my chasis has versus a regular 3series with xDrive.

Did they say anything about the tune or the car being flagged? So few cases of major warranty work out there on BEF cars, just hearsay.

Great thread. Thank you for sharing. As a person who barely knows anything about the N55 and any performance mods, I've learned a lot. Looking forward to any updates!

My only cons are that the welding work isn't superb, and the unit seems a bit heavy but I don't know how heavy the OEM one is so I'll check tomorrow and see the difference. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, and will update when I install this and the Chargepipe tomorrow after work!
Do you have a link to the group buy?

I don't as it was a while ago, but ask @FSociety as he's the one who had it organized originally.

Nope! Everything was easy in and easy out. After I got it back and drove around for a few hours, the check engine light came on due to the downpipe but that was after I had been driving for a while and had left the dealership.
