My buddy had a low clearance and I didn’t realize it. (Just woke up and wasn’t as alert), popped the trunk and bumped it. no damage to the touch, but feels like the clear coat got scratched?

Wondering if there’s any recommendations for me to get it buffed out.

My biggest fear is the clear coat is damaged and will peel

A good compound will get it out, if it hasn't gone through the clear coat. Either Fine, Medium or Heavy compound. (Depending how deep the scratches are) But if it has gone through the clear coat, best to get it resprayed.
