Ohhhh....it all started last July when they decided to talk me into a new 4G combox "free retrofit" it all went down hill. They had my car for 4 weeks couldn't figure out how to properly configure the new combox and 2 complete ecu restores and other modules i ended up with a completely locked ECU and now I can't even code my car with the newest update even though I have the latest esys. It's a complete cluster.

What's the all in cost for the obd option. I see 600 for the license then like 20 for a cable. And maybe another 50 for a map. Is there another charge some where?

AFAIK that's about it - the agent box might be worthwhile to snag as well - provides seamless iOS/Android integration

$595 for License which includes 1- OTS Map of Choice along with Free M2 Map Calibration for EWG cars (should be available for PWG soon too i think)
$50 is for additional OTS Map

Lets say you go for 93 OTS map and later you move somewhere with a E85 stations and u want to try the E30 OTS map ? $50 for that simple

I have an Esys cable from when I coded some features out. Do I need a different cable to use the bootmod software?

How does the DME OBDII unlock work (What do I need to do to unlock)?

What is the difference between the "bench unlock" and the OBDII unlock?

I am looking to get this or MHD, MHD takes 30 mins to flash / unlock? Do I need to worry about a car charger if I use bootmod3?

I'm looking to make my purchase before the weekend, thanks.

ESys Cable works (ENEt to OBD2)

You need Windows Laptop to start; BM3 Purchased License; Good internet; Car Battery Charger (in case of anything goes weird) as they don't know the condition/life of your current battery (better safe than sorry); in the future or normally we don't really need a car charger for bootmod3 because flashing is so quick as long as you have a good battery.

I asked a local dealer if I can purchase and install through them and they said it's still in beta.

You can purchase, just can't flash until OBD unlock is out of closed beta. Don't believe you'll technically need to physically visit a authorized dealer to do this.

I have a JB4 - never got around to hooking it up.

Taking the DME out and getting it unlocked was the deal breaker for me prior to this news.

Once this feature comes out of beta....the price is right. I am all for plug and play solutions - and I can reuse the cable I got for coding...brilliant!

New OBD Agent 0.9.44 features ^^^

Hey guys, as part of OBD unlock closed beta testing we've added a new feature that does a version number check on the OBD Agent. Going forward versions of the UI (web and mobile apps) and the agent need to be the same otherwise a warning is shown when the agent connects to your phone or web browser. It'll also block certain functions unless the update is performed. This should make it easier going forward to know when/if an OBD Agent update is needed.

Version 0.9.44 of the agent has been pushed and available for download. Attachments showing some of the messaging as the agent connects (warning image) and if you try to flash with an outdated version (error image)

OBD unlock and offline flasher aren't ready yet for prime time. Its in closed beta testing this week and we're hoping to release its support to a wider audience as soon as its ready. Closed beta process is one vehicle at a time and very time consuming and the demand has far outweighed the number of cars we can accommodate at this time.

S55 first then N55 EWG then PWG, its being broken down in stages.

Wow question , I am looking at the AA tune can you post or pm me a comparison or the advantages this has vs the Active autowerkes flash tune with the Simon cable? Never mind guess this says it right here.
I am still on the fence.

I - OBD unlock for new cars/install time around 260 seconds start to finish instead of 10-50minutes with other F series tuning solutions.
- Revert back to Stock and locked. No chance of tamper code showing once flashed back.
- No flash counter limitations - our dev cars have been flashed well over 1000 times. This has always been a BM3 feature.
- Flash date freeze - unique BM3-first feature, no other tool supports today. Flash date never changes when flashing with BM3.
- Flash counter freezes after OBD unlock

Has there been any talks or updates on when the PWG gets a flash? I dont mind waiting but man. I kinda dont like being left in the dark.
