Is it possible to use an aftermarket front cam if you are using an android hu alongside an oem rear cam?

If the head unit supports it, yes.

How do you initiate the image from the front camera, does it come on automatically after the rev cam when manoeuvring at low speed or is it a stand alone app with no integration with the oem rear cam?

Generally it comes on automatically after reversing. But to get a definitive answer you would need to contact the manufacture of the head unit you're looking at

Apologies forgot to mention , i have f32.
As mention installed rear camera and all works seamlessly with android hu.

Wondering which unit for front and how a front camera image on screen would connect/trigger?

I use this, works like a dream, front cam comes on for 10 secs automatically after rear cam disengages, or if you press the parking sensor button on the centre console, then press the unit button (on a lead) then you can access the front cam for however long you like!

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1PC-Car-F...IAAOSwRYZfwhGT

If anyone does buy this, when installing remember to connect the reverse wire from the unit to the reverse light only, do not connect the rear or front cam to reverse light, otherwise the cam wont auto switch off.

Just connect the rear and front cam rca cables and their corresponding 12v cables to the 2 way video channel box, then the 12v detect cable from the 2 way video channel box to the 12v detect line on the android head unit.

Hi there - sorry that eBay link is broken (I guess few months old). Do you happen to have another one?

What I am trying to do is find a way for the front camera to turn on automatically vs selecting it via an app on the aftermarket Android HU.

Does this box basically route to the reverse camera input on the HU, and you use a manual switch to flick between front and back?

I bought the unit above to allow for auto switching however I found the system would not auto shut off and revert back to the android screen. Gave up in the end
