plusrd make sure you're reading codes with BMW's ISTA or a BMW specific app, such as BimmerLink. BMW will throw individual codes that are not necessarily readable by some generic units. Sometimes it won't set CEL. But the code will be in memory, whether present or now. Boost leak will set off the code. I had a boost leak after forgetting to replace a sealing ring on my charge pipe. The car had ZERO lights on dash - but when I read codes, it set 2. ISTA will actually guide you as to where to look and how to fix the issue. It pinpoited boost leak immediately and revved the car for me while I searched for the location of the whistle. Easy to diagnose most of the time. But don't depend that you will set off MIL on dash. Mine never set off MIL when EGR got clogged and when I caused my own boost leak, BMW specific code reader is a must.

I currently have the same issue here, how in limp mode. So all you did was tighten the intake bolt?
