Great review ! I'm completely on board with the "how suspension should be comments" until you've driven a car with proper suspension it's hard to believe how much of a difference it can make .

You've convinced me. Had ohlin DFVs on my previous car but will now consider the KWs

Cheers

I'm glad it helped you.

I am a fairly enthusiastic driver, I like my twisty roads but as I've gotten older the ride comfort has climbed up the priority list.

For someone like me, [meaning someone who is NOT going to track the car, or go all out on public roads and absolutely wring the neck off the thing], this is a great piece of kit.

Nice review, thanks for taking the time to write it.

I am still considering what route to go with my setup. Currently on M-sport struts with ACS springs. I think I have narrowed it down to 3 options now. The ACS struts to match the springs, Bilstein B8 struts with existing springs or the KW street comforts.

However, reading this review makes me think its now between 2. Full ACS or Full KW.... decisions decisions... would be good to get a comparison between your new setup and the m-sport struts with ACS springs...

I think either way, you need to go "Full whatever". Mixing an aftermarket component with an original component will only do half the job, and it will still never be right.

After reading your thread I’m swaying towards the kw but not sure which ones yet. I have a 335d x drive with adaptive suspension with eibach pro springs but I think a front shock has gone so leaning away from the adaptive system as it’s a fortune to replace when I can just go for a set of coilovers. My only issues are and concerns at the min are the lights on the dash that it may throw and getting around the edc system

I have read a few people having issues with the delete kits and that it affects the steering set up as the car still thinks it’s there but it isn’t

Hope you can help with a bit of advice
Cheers
Ryan

Hi,

Read your PM, but I'll reply here for the benefit of someone else who may also want to know.

I have the KW Street Comfort kit, which for me is brilliant. It is designed more towards to the "relaxed comfort" side rather than the "sharper handling" side, and that's what I want. It's a family car, and so for that reason I wanted comfort to be primary to handling, but I wanted little compromise in the handling department. So as far as that is concerned I think this delivers just fine.

In regards to the adaptive suspension, I got the KW Delete Kit that was fitted alongside the KW Street Comfort and have had no issues with anything at all so far.

Hope that answers your question.

I am very happy with the setup. The weakest link now is the runflat tyres, which I hope to resolve this summer coming.

DDC? Sorry it's been a while since I looked into this, what's that?

DDC is KW's branding for EDC-compatible dynamic dampers. Plug-n-play.

Ah, thanks.

I preferred to have passive shockers rather than dynamic. Just personal preference I suppose but I'm much more comfortable with knowing what my suspension can take since it's at a fixed rate as opposed to "changing all the time" (dynamic).

I hold the same view - passive dampers provide the predictability which I value more than having switchable modes.
