BMW Insured Warranty

Hi I have a 2015 330d msport x drive which is just coming out of warranty and I am considering the BMW insured warranty options.

Has anybody used this scheme and had any experiences of making claims under the policy?

Are there any known issues with this car that I should be aware of ?

The warranty options are , full cover, named components or drivetrain.

Annual costs are Full £440 (£100 Xs), named £384 (£100 Xs).

Had a number of 3 and 5 series before but this is a great car and probably one I will look to keep.

Itís a great peace of mind having the warranty.
Your BMW dealer just takes the excess of you, they do all the Ď paperwork Ď.
When my 6 year old car was MOTíd last January it was pointed out that one of my shock absorbers was weeping. They fitted a new one.
It would have cost £270+ with labour but I just paid the £100 excess.
Obviously a shock absorber is relatively a cheap part but the same principle applies to more expensive parts.

I have just (within the last hour) paid for the annual Comprehensive Warranty online. My 3 year manufacturer's warranty expires tomorrow.(You have to renew before it expires otherwise the price goes up, or so they told me.)
I decided to have the £250 excess, as it wouldn't sting too much if I had to pay that for a repair and it keeps the price down. Mine was £339. (£303 for named component and £279 for drive train - all with £250 excess)

Yes it is cheaper if you renew while youíre currently in warranty.

Had extended comprehensive warranty for 3 years, from 60k to 120k. 3 claims in that time paying 250 excess:
110k EGR, EGR Cooler & Intake Manifold (coked up) £1300
90k Rear Wheel Bearings (droning) £850
120k Intercooler Hose (leaking) £280

Can't fault the service given and no 'wear & tear' get outs, even at 120k. It also includes cover for Pro Nav, HUD etc which alternative providers don't generally.
