Dealer did good

Not often seen, but I had a positive experience with the dealer yesterday.

Needed oil and brake fluid service and decided to try alternative to the usual dealer as they seem to have spent a lot of money on buildings but not on staff. Rang alternative and was given a good price so book the car in.

Drop off car then wander off to local costa. Ten minutes later I get the dreaded call, ‘we’ve looked at your car and you need a new pollen filter....’.

Now, not a lot of money but I was just miffed that this always seems to happen, always something just a little extra. I politely explain I had been given a price and that the person on the phone had assured me that would cover everything. Also that this was our first experience with this new dealer.’

No joy on phone, new dealer same shitty service.

Ten minutes later, they call back, our bad sir, we’ll honour the original quote. Me very surprised.

Anyway, dealers often get slagged off, but this one did good. Thanks Doncaster Bmw.

You've just summed up most franchises over here in Vegas. as for alternatives, the two dealerships in the valley are owned by the same company. Next dealership is over 100 miles away.

Another good reason to stay far far away from Sin City!

I can recommend Barons in Farnborough if you don’t mind travelling over from Reading

I'm In Oxfordshire and think the oxford dealership to be pretty poor, and not heard good things about Cooper, so I've been using Sytner in High Wycombe, and have had decent service so far. That's one purchase and one service, with the 330e dropped off painlessly today too. Depending where exactly you are the High Wycombe may not be too bad?

But there are many good reasons to go there The Wynn and its Japanese restaurant being one of them.

I refuse to use coopers the bunch of fuckwits. Cheap(ish) parts and got the MPPSK there but everything else they can suck a lemon.

I use Marshalls in Hook. It's 20mins away and the guys are great there. Also FAR FAR cheaper than coopers for servicing.

Let me guess - Sytner Sheffield? I went to Sandal Wakefield recently, much better service.

Sytner is good to drool in, that's about it though.

Similar thing happened with me at Sytner Sunningdale (which is actually in Ascot?). Was quoted for brakes and discs and when they had done the work sales guy be like oh but your car is m sport so they're actually £100 more.

I said they can be a £1000 more but I'm not paying a penny over quote so he 'spoke' with the manager and honoured the quote. The cheek though

Out of interest did you get the quote verbally or in some written form?
