Gran Coupe with White Seats

A 2015 BMW 435i Gran Coupe came up on a internet search. It a few hundred miles away but has everything I want. I am just not sure about the white seats. The car is already nearly 4 years old and from the pics the seats look great. I'm wondering if they will stain easily. Anybody have white seats that could give some input?

I’ve got white leather sport seats in my GC. Yeah, you gotta take more care with them. They’ll pick up blue/black from new jeans, etc. Sonax leather treatment keeps em clean. And they wear a cover-towel if we’re getting dirty...

We had a 440i loaner with the Ivory seats - looked great, but couldn't imagine keeping up with them, and we have Venetian beige.

Do you have to maintain it? Sure but it's not as bad as everyone says. You say the seats are in good condition and if they are still white, I would personally do a cleaning and then protect it. That should make any future cleaning significantly easier. You don't have to clean it daily. What I do is clean any significant stains (denim) as soon as I can. Everything else will come out easily with either water or a good leather cleaner.

I clean them once every 6 months. Use a product by Leather Masters specifically to deal with dye transfer. They have a product to prevent and to clean it.

Dakota leather is easy to maintain. If you're the type of person that frequently cleans their car, then you'll be fine. Just get a horsehair brush and a big bottle of leather cleaner - it doesn't have to be expensive. You don't have to condition Dakota leather, but if you do, it will also repel stains better with the downside that the leather will get a little shiny and slick.

I have white leather seats on my DD and have had no issues. Clean and condition a few times a year.

I've got Opal White Merino Individual in my '16 435 and it still looks like new. Since I usually wear jeans and I do get some blue dye marks on the seat bottom, but it usually comes right out with a damp cloth. I'll also use Leather cleaner if it does not come out perfectly with water.
I am super careful with leather belts and jackets though, I had either my jacket or belt burnish into the leather on my X3 years ago, so I always watch leather on leather since nothing took that out.

I have oyster dakota on my 2015 328i. I have not experienced any dye transfer from my clothes and leather looks as clean as new. Keep in mind that the dakota "leather" is coated so quite resistant to stains, etc

HTH,

Our other vehicle in the family is 2015 BMW X5 with Oyster White seats. As expected, blue dye transfer from jeans occurs without abatement. What is Sonax leather treatment? Very interested in how you apply it. Results?

There are a number of Sonax products for leather. The foam works well & is easy to use:

They have a Dirt Eraser which look similar to the Mr. Clean melamine ones, but I've not tried them: https://www.autogeek.net/sonax-dirt-eraser.html

Thank you all for suggestions and replies. I ended up buying the car white seats and all. Over all the seats look very good. They do have a few light stains I will try to get out and then use a conditioner/sealer to protect.
