Key replacement questions
I have a 2016 BMW 340i Xdrive with comfort access and stock lci build. I'm interested in some new key replacement options. I found this app "AliExpress" and they have a new style replacement remote I like. It's much more sleek and thin compared to my fat stock remote. It has several options for buttons....315MHz....434MHz....868MHz...... does anyone have any idea what MHz version I would need??

We can't see your shopping cart. Based on the dozens of threads on this very subject I'd say the chances of whatever you're looking at working with a BMW are slim and none, and Slim just left town.

A word of caution about the Chinese remotes. It will take some work to get them to operate correctly with the car's security system, and quality is often questionable.

Most dealers will also refuse to program it.
How much stuff is in your pocket that you feel that it’s fat? I put the key in my pocket at the beginning of the day and forget about it then take it out when I get home. |

I bought my car used out of state and it only had one key. I ordered a spare key through my regular dealer. They required the VIN and registration to prove ownership. Two days later and $400 I had a second key. I synched it myself. I wasn’t paying them an hour of labor for a ten second job.
Here’s my fob next to my work car fob. They’re all about the same size. |

Expensive route: Order a newer BMW fob that is thinner and smaller, and fit your old fob's board in it. Requires soldering and new key fob costs $300+.
Easier route: Get a small clip/hook like this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and hook the fob onto front pocket. The fob will hang and stay out of the way instead of bulking up the bottom of the pocket. |
