thanks! you'll love it! it's a great tune and a really wonderful alternative to the coveted JB4. the product support is top notch and you have near direct contact with the two guys who created the tune. average time to flash (after your initial DME unlock) is roughly 4 minutes to change maps, but the tune is smooth in power delivery and feels amazing. let me know if you have questions! I'm loving it so far!

great to hear yet another good review of one of the OTS maps as well as PTF's customer support, which is such a huge factor when it comes to this stuff. can. not. wait!

Yeah, the map flashing time is delayed right now. Used to be about 30sec to a minute. Hope that gets fixed haha. So nice to be able to swap in less than a minute.

I'm still not mad at 4 minutes lol. the only other flash tune I've done myself (on a friends car not mine) took about 40 minutes...

the good thing is that they are always improving. even the OTS maps get attention to ensure that you get the best possible form and function out of them. the burble sliders are the hot ticket right now... it's a blast so far!

next week I'll put out a personal review. There's So much good to say about this tune.

Noooo, needs less burbles.

I honestly think people are getting flash tunes for the wrong reasons (burbles)

How long did the initial unlock and flash process take overall? Closer to 4 minutes or 15?

Thats because you have to go to about and click on "DME is unlocked" after the init unlock or else it will keep unlocking and flashing. My map swaps take less than a minute.

Initial unlock was definitely shorter than 15. I'm using a super old laptop too which makes my unlock and Map changes much longer. so my Map changes are around 2-4 after my initial unlock.

Been through 10 to 15 maps and it wasn't until the sliders that I started getting slow flash times and I alway do Flash (Skip Checks)

no such thing as a wrong reason to do something to a car. if you like it, for whatever reason, that's the right reason. burbles ftw

Yeah but I get what he's talking about. We sift through the FB every day to help people out and sometimes I wish I tallied how many burble posts showed up... I also wish I tallied how many posts show up that could've been answered either by my sticky or the PTF FAQ/Help pages. Lol

My favorite thing about PTF. I honestly hope they find a way to keep the genuiness as they scale their staff. I love working with Dzenan and Halim, but man-oh-man do they need more staff lol. They are rapidly growing and on top of that, we need Dzenan to be able to focus on unlocking those B series DMEs.

Not really, the guys at PTF are spending 85% of the time fixing burble or doing burble shit and they're getting tired of it. If they're spending all their time doing that, we won't be able to get more power out of the maps with updates. It's the reason why they released sliders so all those "burble kids" could do it on their own.

Ask anyone on the FB group and I guarantee they'll say the same thing.

I'm a firm believer that anything you do to your car that makes you happy has been done for the right reason (unless it's something heinous like upbadging or a ghost cam tune, those are never ok). while I agree that I would rather see PTF refine maps for power and smoothness rather than burbles, I can't fault the "kids" who just want to hear their exhaust pop. maybe if PTF were abandoning the pursuit of OTS map improvement altogether, I'd agree that they should chill with the burble stuff, but for now, I see no harm in it as long as it doesn't hinder the development of everything else.

also, I'm surely a kid by your definition at 19 y/o, but I'm in the same boat as you, I'd rather see time spent on refinement and smooth power rather than extra burbles, so be careful with your generalizations .

Is it possible to have bootmod3 WITHOUT the burbles? I just sold an E46 with a loud exhaust and I'm not trying to wake the neighborhood up again every time I drive home from work in my F30.

So this is obviously the way to go with people selling off their dinan sport tunes and JB4s like hotcakes but...

In my situation, im CPO for 2.5 more years and I dont want to risk my warranty.
I was thinking dinan sport tune for now and flash when warranty is up (at that time i will likely go FBO). I know its simple and fast to flash back to stock but I like the fact that if im broken down on the side of the road, I could simply unhook the dinan sport in a matter of seconds without having to mess with any coding or computer or fault codes etc etc. So seems like the easiest way to quickly revert to stock, if I ever had to do it on the fly.

Thoughts?
