Sorry, I've not tried coding yet... Not enough shiny new things for me to get touch with coding!

But seriously, coding your tow bar to retract and deploy on a key press surely can't be high priority when you haven't got the car yet?!

Mine just arrived today. had a quick look under the car & there will need to be quite a bit trimmed off in order to clear the towbar. The fixing holes are also in a different place so will need drilling. "Should" be un-noticable when on though

Good to know a diffuser can work should I ever go down that route.

I've just actually done my B+E license as I passed after '97. Worth bearing in mind if you're an early thirties driver who plans to tow anything of any significance.

With my hefty 335d Touring I can now legally tow up to 1875Kg (the cars max towing weight).

Folks, if you are getting the m performance diffuser with tow bar, be careful.

As much as it seems to work with regards to the towbar extended out from underneath ok, when I attached my Thule bike rack on the back, the fitting on the bike rack when attached sits literally 1mm off the diffuser and actually can rub against it when fitting, tight is the word I would use!!

Mines touches when extended, but not too worried as don't use it all that often and happy to stick some tape on it when I do.

Do either of you have a picture of how much had to be trimmed and also a pic of the tow hitch extended so I can see how close to the diffuser it is.

A link to where to by a non OEM one for an F31 would be great too.

Thanks in advance.

That's great.

Do you have a link?
Does the OEM have the cutout template on the right where the would be exhausts?

Do you mean it "rubs" against one of the fins below the car or?

I've got both things on my order, the towhook & M diffusor - dealer didn't say anything to me but seeing / reading stuff on the forum made me wonder now

So your not a "strap four bikes to the roof" kind of guy then?

Any advantage to "balancing them on the towbar" or is that just personal preference? Or do you have a roof box too?
I ripped a bike off the roof of my wife's Audi (phew!) when I hit an unmarked barrier in a car park (long story).

Gone for the tow bar option this time!

Hiya, messaged you also but worth sharing here also. The towbar does work with the diffuser but the plastic electric adaptor does rub on the fin, only just but it has left a small mark. I am totally fine with that to be fair as only minor and can be touched up. Better option for me as have bike rack that fits with towbar to avoid roof mounted bike rack for 4 bikes as have roof box also.

I regret not adding the electric towbar when I ordered my F31. I'm considering getting a witter detachable one fitted but I have the m performance diffuser, has anyone done that and are there any issues? If anyone does do they have any pictures?

I doubt a BMW dealer will fit the diffuser to a car with a tow bar as BMW have decided that it "doesn't fit", so anyone doing it will have to go elsewhere I'd guess.
