Car shutting off on WOT 1F053C: Maximum acceleration exceeded

Hi,

Car keeps shutting off on WOT. No gas and only brake when this happens, quite scary actually. Everything works fine after restarting the car.

I saw two fault codes

First one

Oil service wasn't reset when it was changed in the turbo install I guess.

Second one

Looks like the DME is shutting the car off because too much power? Thought it was the hpfp crashing but I saw it at 2300psi when it happens. Could this be happening because of the oil service code?

Here's a log of my second revision

Did these fault codes appear shortly after installing one of the mods listed?

No issues until the overdue engine oil service fault code came up and along with the maximum acceleration exceeded. Resetted the engine oil service and cleared the codes and see if it happens again. Is the DME smart enough to restrict power based on an overdue service?

I had this same issue after getting an E50 tune, only happened when it was wet. My understanding is it's traction control related. It is a bit scary when it happens the car effectively shuts down. After restart the car is fine and the codes go away.

My tuner told me I could adjust the boost reduction in BM3 to help. Really it's solved by turning TC completely off when ripping on it and throttle control in comfort mode when it's wet.

I don't think its traction control related in my case. It happened again after resetting the overdue engine oil service. Same code 1F053C: Drive, safety function: Maximum acceleration exceeded. I did have a failed bm3 flash before this was happening. I reflashed and everything seemed normal. Could it be the tune? Messed up my DME or acceleration sensor?

Does it happen with traction control off?

Let me try that because ever since I started the E40 tune. I log with traction control off once per day and go home right after and don't drive the car hard. Also now that I think about it, it hasn't happened with sport +, only in sport.

Thanks for this info. I notified my tuner about this. Before we thought it was the hpfp crashing, but after monitoring the rail pressure when it happens and looking up the code description, I figured it wasn't the hpfp and notified him this weekend.

FYI I just had a dirty rear wheel speed sensor issue, that also caused this code to pop up along with wheel speed plausibility code, so if your still getting this I would also remove the rear wheel speed sensors clean them, and blow some air down the hole at the reluctor ring for good measure, also note I do have the max acc coded to the maximum value so it looks like you can still get this error that that setting if you have a bad speed sensor

I am not getting this anymore. Tuner forgot to set the acceleration limit. Actually, you were the one who mentioned it. Thank you.
