The problem with adding spring spacers or screwing the spring seats higher is that you could start topping out the damper. They're not designed for this load.

True, there's nothing to prevent topping out even at recommended ride heights. It'll just happen more often as the resting shock position gets closer to full extension.

I'm following the "strong" recommendation of Chris Benny at Prova Motorsports in Seattle. He wasn't keen about going 1/2" higher. I made the SWAG that KW included that much safety margin in their design. After 40k miles they're OK so maybe I could have gone higher?

The car handles so well with this setup that I'm not enticed to go back to stock ride height despite having needed to replace the underbody panels ahead of the rear wheels. Twice. (Fairly easy. About $80 per panel.)
Very practical and helpful review. KW V3 coilovers lower the vehicle too much for daily driving duties. It's a great product with independent compression and rebound controls. Some consumers do need to maintain OEM suspension height and it's unfortunate that KW V3 coilovers do not offer this option.

I agree, I purchased new coilovers from KW and cancelled my order right after reading the reviews on here,

it's not that I can't afford it like many people think, it's that i want a functional car. Which KW is known for, just not designed properly for the f31

There are many members with KW on the F31 that report it's pretty much slammed at max height in the rear, and shared their pictures

Thanks for the seller info.
Searched his auctions and uncovered two different Eibach ProKits for the F31.
One, ending ...14-22 has max loads of 965/front and 1285/rear while the second, ending ...15-22 has them at 1010/front and 1285/rear.

Pull out a tape measure and measure the middle of center cap to the top arch of the fenders. I am at 14" on all 4 corners with another .5" to go up if I wanted to.

I'm at 14.25" in the front and 13.75" in the rear with ACS springs

Yes. I have decided to go with Koni special active struts+ the Eibach springs listed above.

They are going in this weekend. Everything will be new so it will truly show how the springs sit.

Hope it fixes the problem. Any chance you have seen this thread?

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1429989

Not sure if you have seen this spacer thing the euro people are using.

I want to buy springs for my Adaptive suspension! This car is so wobbly compared to a M3/Mini Cooper!

Yes I know KW makes one that works with their kit.

15, 30, and 50mm

I'd recommend the E10-20-031-15-22 kit over the E10-20-031-14-22. The E10-20-031-14-22 front spring is just about a half inch shorter (10-13mm). I didn't like how often I scraped with the E10-20-031-15-22 kit. Brand new dampers might give him a bit more ride height than broken in ones (Bilsteins definitely require some break in).

I have the H&R sport springs and they're not bouncy, but I do have the M adaptive shocks. The H&R super sport springs will lower the car more and most likely cause it to bounce.

Hey guys, here's an update. Install went fairly smooth, lets just say it's easy, but long and tiresome. Tackled the job with zcspec

The car sits great now, it appears to be near **level** with a possible slight front rake, which is what I was looking for. I've driven it about 100 miles so far and will remeasure tomorrow. Photos are right after install and after doing a 1 mile loop.

The suspension combination with Koni Special Active/Eibach feels very, very good, this not the combination for those who want to be slammed.

These are active struts meaning they react to road conditions. To summarize, normal cruising gives you a factory comfort ride, with any sudden jolts or movement, the struts stiffen up. (pot holes, rough roads, cornering, etc)

What I've noticed:
The car stays almost completely level on launches or when getting on the brakes, this is odd sensation coming from the normal huge nose dive. Handling is excellent, comfort is excellent.

I can't believe the amount of research you put into this project and am search many others will thank YOU for the dedication. I'm sorry the first go wasn't to your liking, but who in their right mind would accept the reverse rake look?
With the current setup, it's perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. The springs and your choice in upgraded shocks is spot on. On to the next project!
