You can take it to carmax and have them buy it. As a dealer they won't pay taxes so you might be able to squeeze some positive equity out.

Florida has no state income tax and we don't pay full tax on leases. It must be some old rule that just hasn't changed.

As soon as I get the call my car is at the dealer, nest stop Carmax. Also, the price difference I was referring to was retail private party seller price vs the trade in price (Auction Value) I would get from Carmax.

Carmax lowballed my GTI at $4,5K. When I asked for a trade-in appraisal at a dealer and mentioned I knew the most recent wholesale data points were around $7K I had no problem getting an offer of $6,5K, granted they might have been eager to sell the car I was looking at. Incidentally, KBB valued the car considerably lower than that even if in 'excellent condition'. Private Party excellent condition was more in line with what the dealer offered.
Next time I will skip Carmax and go to my buddy who owns a bodyshop immediately for some fresh wholesale/retail data points.

Thoughts on this deal? I'm in SoCal

2015 BMW 328i
Options: Driver's assistance package, M sport, Navigation system, sunroof, keyless entry
MSRP: $47300 (edmund's TMV is ~42000)
"Selling Price": 38995 (including 3000 Dec 2015 3 series incentive)
36 mo/12k miles
$1250 Drive off (first month, resgistration, etc.), no down payment
RV 59%

1. If no MSD:
MF 0.00131, monthly payment quoted $413 plus tax

2. If 7 MSD:
MF 0.00082, monthly payment quoted $380 plus tax

He didn't tell me the net cap cost, so I'm waiting for him to respond. The exact RV I'm waiting to hear back from him but based on 12k/36 mo, my understanding is it's 59% this month. My numbers don't match his so I can only assume the net cap cost is what they're fiddling with.

If you use his "selling price" as net cap cost, his quotes are ~$18/month more than what I get. To match his numbers, it seems they added in an extra $600.

However, overall, assuming no further adjustment, thoughts on the deal above (though I do think I can push him more)? Am I missing anything?

Thanks so much for everyone's insight.

There is a reason KBB, BlackBook, Glaves (East Coast) and NADA (Auction Net) all give different appraisal numbers.....so the dealer can pick and choose which one they want to share with the customer. Hell KBB has about 15 different values for the same car sometimes.

Everything good except the 5% off msrp. Even I managed to get 8% off an M4. Your goal is at least 10% off msrp. And make sure to decline all supplemental insurance, protections, etc...

Is this ordered or off the lot?

So 46364 is selling price which includes -750 Option Credit and -750 Holiday Adder? and then minus 1k so 45364? Wow thats a steal how. Please break it down.

Yes this car was off the lot, well sort of. He had to wait 2-3 days while the car made it to the dealer from port. I imagine the price would have been higher had he just ordered the car.

Unfortunately I was asked not to name the dealer. But I can tell you this is in CA. He emailed 10 dealers (internet sales) in the area and asked for the lowest price. A couple dealers gave at least 10% off msrp on cars on the lot. So it's not like dealers are not willing to play balls. Just don't sound like you're a noob and you should get a fair price. The prices include the 750 option and the 750 holiday credits. He just happened to have a 1000 ude so that was just a bonus.

What they did was use the selling price as 46.3k, made him put in 1300 down as part of drive off, added 1st month, dmv tags, tax, license, and 7 MSDs. Then credit him with 1000 off the total drive off. Hence it's equivalent to putting down $300.

Keep up with the monthly RV and MF numbers. When talking to the dealer just insists on the standard base BMW MF. Almost every dealer wants to inflate that number so just gently remind them that you will not pay for more than base MF.

It would have been easier had they just make the selling price 45.3 but apparently as part of drive off it has to be a minimum of 1st month, TTL, and MSDs.

Hey thanks. I'm driving the M4 right now. One of the best cars I've ever owned. I was telling my gf today that this is the first car I own in which I don't want more power lol.

Hey Guys! I'm in the process of trying to get my hands on a 2016 435 xDrive Convertible and thought I'd share some details to see if I'm getting a good deal or not. Thanks in advance for the help!

Dealer Name/ Location: Herb Chambers BMW Boston
Year/Model: 2016 435 xDrive Convertible
MSRP: $67095
Invoice: Around $62000
Options/Packages: M Sport, Driver Assistance, Cold Weather, Navigation (no Technology Package), 442M 19" Wheels (21C)
Negotiated Price: Currently we are at $62885. Taking Tire/Wheel protection, sales tax, and other fees into account I'm trying to get things down to $60000
Other Pertinent Information: Truecar Factory invoice price is coming in as $62440 and average Truecar price paid is $61601. I'm also exploring European Delivery, not sure how that factors in price-wise but wanted to throw it out there.

Any help would be eternally appreciated!

You should aim for at least 12-13 off MSRP with all discounts. I don't recommend anyone getting tire/wheel protection, even if you're in Boston. As a matter of fact I don't recommend any type of insurance. Chances are you'll loose. Yes you'll hear people who were able to make a claim but plenty more never used it. Save your money and self insure yourself. European delivery used to make financial sense, not anymore. Do it for the experience, not the money.

I think that's a reasonable deal. A friend of mine just scored $350 a month with a similar car. But that's off the lot. If this car has everything that you want take it.

Everything looks good, except the $2500 down. Don't put cash down on leases with the exception of refundable MSD. And no you are never required to put money down on a lease.

I actually got another dealer to give $360 with incentives locked in at the time my car arrives. Seems near impossible to beat.
